View Full Version : Lord of the Pit - (Hellborne)

Description: A creature that does acid-based attacks. Runs around on all fours like a dog but his two front "legs" have large claws to shred his opponents.

Strategy: A melee strength character who has very limited range capability with their acidic spit. He has ways to gain some health and increase their damage.

Skills:

Acid Spit - A limited projectile target attacks that deals little damage on contact but does DOT over time.

Cry of the Beast - A self-buff that is activated for a few seconds. Increases the base damage of the Lord of the Pit.

Infection - Each time the Lord of the Pit strikes at someone, they are marked for a certain duration. If that hero dies while marked, he explodes and deals damage to those around him.

Thirst (Ultimate) - Lord of the Pit latches onto his foe, draining their life and while healing himself. He cannot move while this is taken to affect and cannot cancel. Melee skill.

Well.. here's the thing, I don't understand why he has a buff that increases base damage if almost all of his skills don't contribute to him doing melee damage. Also, infection sounds like a lesser versions of Caustic Finale on Sandking in Dota, and this game is too chaotic to make it so if he kills a HERO with his infection, it'll explode, units would make more sense and be a lot more plausible. Also what type of ability is thrist? What's it's range? 300-600-900-1000. Does it work like Devourers hook?

let me re-edit that...melee skill

As for the melee skill bit, we could make the same argument towards the Puppet Master who has strictly disable or movement restriction yet suddenly he has increase in base damage for his ranged attack.

Can this be more creative? How about if every time he attacks the infection cycles through a set list of 3 or 4 things. Each one of those infections affects an aoe around him differently.

So if you really want something to happen to someone you have to hit them a set number of times, and then get your teammates to finish him off. Makes it necessary to work with your team then. Should be very doable with a new engine, or whatever it is we have. Though I don't know how you'll mark it. Swirly something over his head that changes color with each hit to mark the different infections? Spit-balling here.
