Then any character can deny themselves?

Nathan brings up a good point, it would have to be ensured that the activation costs 150 life, if you can't pay for it, you can't use it.
Mana Regeneration Aura lost, I don't think items should lose their effects, the Aura should stay, after all I would buy a ring of the teacher to gain mana passively, not to then need to get hit to gain mana with no passive at all.
If you put the Aura back and change the life thing to cost I can see it being amazing on Accursed :)

You could deny yourself at 150 life or less. Hm.
15% damage into mana? That's an awful lot on a strength hero. This item's very useful to str (and even agi) heroes, but of little use to int heroes. Interesting.
I like it, thumbs up. Might wanna do something about that 150 to make it physical or magic so they can't get the exact number that'll be dealt in their head and self-deny. Or perhaps have the effect occur over 5 seconds.

Guys, thank you for your replies. You have good points there. A few seconds after I posted it, I realized that strength heroes would benefit from it much more than intelligence ones, paradoxically.
Why remove the mana regen aura? Because I feel it would be too strong. The player is to decide whether to lose the hard mana regen and gain burst regen every once in a while, or keep it and build something else.
About the 15%. It's really just a number to balance. I want it to be notable, not too much, not too little. Only real game play can lead to an exact number.
Thank you, Zarent.

Cool concept. A unique way to incorporate mana battery. T-UP.

Yea, it's sweet. Remembering that casters doesn't have lots of hp, so this is pretty well balanced.Could even get a buff, 25% or something
And the best thing is that it has nice sinergy with pink's vestiment!!! haha!

it doesnt make sense to get... the benefits from ring and mana battery seperately are better than this.... as a concept and by the numbers...
sorry, t-down. i dont think this is needed or would even be used. i mean, 1300 gold to hurt yourself? masochists rejoice!

Its really not going to be used by already squishy Int heroes, the tanks who can afford the HP loss and lack mana are going to get it, and in that sense its actually a pretty decent item, I'm still not sure I like the idea of being able to deny self, would much prefer the HP a cost rather than damage as part of the ability.
Either way I'll vote for it

Thanks again, guys.
You know, if it weren't for that x% damage taken returned as mana, I would think it's overpriced or non-sense to get. It's just another way to get mana quickly. And really, the more I think about it, it would fit strength heroes, not intelligence.
You would not be able to deny yourself. The activation text says that you must have more than 150 health to be able to activate it.

Electrician would become like a fully fed devourer with sac stone 4 charges. OP! but, like TheSpid, love it. nice alt to power supply for mana. gj!
You could make it % hp if you wanted it useable on all heroes. I love the idea btw.
