View Full Version : Spirit Sword
In short: Drains mana from the target and gives it to the owner.
Not to be confused with Nullfire Blade (which BURNS mana)
We hava life drain, why not mana drain?
Activatable: no
Passive: yes
- Drains mana from target equal to 15% of damage dealt
- 16 strength
- 10 damage
- 50% mana regeneration
Cost:

(2400 + 875 + 260 recipe) = 3535
The Spirit Swords costs a lot and gives only a minimal stat bonus.
But then again, this item shouldn't be bought for the stats, but for the mana drain.
Could be handy for those low manapool carries lategame.
Any feedback?
Edit: typo
Whats wrong with nullfire blade

Doesn't drain mana.
Also, add a poll to this thread.

Add poll to thread and maybe suggest a few heroes who would benefit from this. Would make it nice and pretty.

Meh, everyone would have this item

Maybe also, make it an Attack Modifier so it won't be too powerful.

Add a poll to this thread man. I like the idea, anyone would buy it.

I don't really understand why Icebrand is used in this (which has a total cost of 2400 currently, not 2250). Otherwise I like this idea. Can this stack with nullfire blade?
This should not be able to stack with nullfire blade imo. Otherwise it would make it overpowered.
Also, I doubt everyone would get it. The only real benefit is the manadrain, and there are tons of heroes that shouldnt even bother getting this item.
We have lifesteal items. It's only fair to have manasteal items added too.
To the people that say everyone will get this:
Doubt it. That's like saying, everyone buys lifesteal items. There are tons of heroes that shouldnt even bother farming this Spirit Sword.

could work for a carry that builds frostburn then splits to make geobane and can't be bothered/ doesn't need to farm a frostwolf skull. Would be good on puppet with harkon's cos he'd never be oom. Same goes for torturer.

dunno, as someone said either everyone would get this item or none, based on how they'll balance it if it gets in

Useless. Late game with all the armor floating around most heroes only hit around 100-125 damage (especially if they have spent their money on this thing). 8-10 mana per hit? Not feeling it.

People should vote on the concept, and NOT on the numbers. Deeeerrrrp
I like this item.
remember, enemy melee creeps and neutral creeps dont have mana.
The only way to drain mana would be the killing the warlock/ranger/some neutral creeps/enemy heroes.
3.5k for 8-10 mana per hit is pretty expensive if you think about it.
(A simple manatube+manapotion could give you the same result lategame for only 925gp.)
Maybe make it 15% like hungry spirit?

If it's pretty expensive make it better... It should be.

What do I suggest... I would say if you don't want the % per hit, give it an activation that places a debuff on a target that makes it so every attack on them did the drain that lasts 4 or 5 seconds.

love the idea, play around with the items a bit though
