This mod replaces Witch Slayers texture with Nero from Devil May Cry 4

Stuff to be worked on:
-effects of hero and moves (suggestions please)
-beardless model which imports with 0 unintended blockiness (nothing against you theli, just i'm fail :()
-Normal map.. such a drag (WANT HIS HAIR SPIKY!)
-importing his model into HoN

To Install:
Simply download this file (http://www.mediafire.com/?md1yndn0ykt) into the Heroes of Newerth game folder. The default locations for this folder are:
Linux: /home/<username>/HoN/game/
Windows 7: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\
Windows Vista: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\
Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\
Mac:
1. Press Finder
2. Press Applications
3. Right click 'Heroes of Newerth', and press Show containing files
4. Open Game folder
5. Move file here
You will now have this texture. To disable it, simply delete resources1100.s2z or remove it from the game folder.
This mod does not overwrite any vital files.Please have constructive comments ;)

Great skin. Considering how much you got it to resemble Nero even with the default model.
Once I get better at modeling and theli finishes the exporter/importer Ill be sure to make some hair for him, better head and some tweaks.
Actually I got the beardless model to look great + without blockiness but now my uv map fails me.
Im looking for a solution now. Might take some time though.

I just wanted to release the skin, instead of not releasing while updating. This allows for better feedback :D
You've mentioned that before hemp_co, still trying to see what i can do
At the moment i'm sure i cannot edit the dagger in his hand, but i could edit the projectile image into say maliken's sword (just a thought)
That's awesome Yuichi, yeh i have problems with UV map too, hes too dark ya, his pants are lit though, more lights then?
If you are having problems using mediafire, try using another browser. Somethimes firefox wants to hate me and not let me download from mediafire so i use IE or Safari
Day7, working on that, normal map is semi confusing atm, i got him with like 10 fauxhawks, but it looks stupid.

finally got to try this skin out today, I gotta admit it looks GREAT!
the hair/hulk hogan stache is way less noticable zoomed out and the colors/symbols look great
definitely replacing the normal skin for me :)
I notice you didn't reapply the normal map so i did and tweaked hair slightly but it needs more work imo. Other than that gj.

ahh ty dude, i played around with the normal map but it went anti what i wanted :(
I was also considering what if its possible to normal the beard out so it appears less ;)
What did u use for the normal map, and what colours are the ones to be used?
I'll update the main post with it, including pic. That ok? :)

TY u got credits for the ner normal map, updated post and ill work on some more normal map settings (removing some bumps, adding some etc)
Fitlering removes some features each time, much annoyed by this :(
No no, you have to apply the normal map filter on the color.tga (or whatever you call it) each time you change something and save it as normal map(overwriting the previous normal map).

-Stun > Maybe you could make blue fire? Just to represent how powerful his hand is xDD.
-Mana Drain > Maybe he could use his arm and "grab" the enemy and suck out his mana. :D

Just open up the .s2z with winrar and edit the hero.entity file with notepad.
Change every nero_icon.tga to icon.tga.
You should find 2 of them.

Atm trying to get normal map a bit different, it should also remove some of his beard (the depth i mean)
Someone also suggested for Devil Bringer to be shown when he drains mana. If i cannot get it done onto the hero ill create a groundsprite(hopefully)

Muahaha now his sword needs just a little texturing...
Ill do it when I get my Wacom Graphire 3 back... Might take some time though...
Also he is beardless now. Ill start working on the hair when I have time.

I also had some weird thought within the hours getting the model correct, what if he attacks using Devil Bringer, like not throwing daggers but like as seen in DMC4. (just a random thought)
I'm off to bed (2am now) more when i wake up :D

I cannot be sure...i thinking of having a go after textures are implemented properly (DMC4 uses alot of textures for one model :()
I can up the original files i got from DMC4 if anyone is interested, that being model and textures. Total size is about 10mb(i think)

The textures should be quite easy if you have everything uv mapped already.
You just need to add materials for different parts of the body.
1 material for every texture.

Im unsure what to do, i used 3d ripper dx to get it, then in 3ds max 8 got just nero from it, then scaled him and exported
he came with alot of material files so i got them and put it into his hero folder along with the corresponding dds's.
Now i think about it, i need them as tga..

Oh right I forgot that you used 3ds max...
No idea how to use that so I cant really give any information regarding that one :/
If you want though I could use use blender and assign the textures for him.

3d ripper dx only compatible with 3ds max, as the output is 3dr. Textures are assigned to him, as when he is exported he comes with material files. I have all the associated files, but they arent appeaing properly :(
Finally have a sample:
From what im witnessing, it seems some will apply correctly yet other will not :(
NVM textures fixed (not making normal map until animations are working)
Animations now... Blender poops out while importing the .model
Also, if i get the model it might be better as Maliken (think about it ya)

From what I remember you can choose 3d ripper to make .obj files too which Blender can import.

3d ripper dx rips whole scene, and caused it to turn flat when it converts to obj, so i can just convert the chr file i have into obj.
All textures working perfectly, animations are frustrating me though :(
Also, if the model can get animations then it might be better for him as maliken
And now to continue with normal Witch Slayer, Devil Bringer here i come

I havent checked up on this in a while, and I cannot seem to find any of my previous files used for Nero. From what I remember the only proper way for this to work was to make him more chibi-ish, as he is very small compared to other heroes
