Basic Game Play:


Early:
Go to short lane and last hit with blue damage sword.
Ask for ganks from mid from time to time for a few early kills with blue sword + Sword Throw.
Never use green sword because it's lame and not for a man. (Unless someone fast is chasing you and you are gonna die and you can sword throw with it and want to be a surviving woman)
Also never keep it normal that's just .... not even gonna say.


Mid:
Keep farming and watch out for ganks.
Participate in some ganks yourself but still farm and use your sword to semi initiate and last hit heroes if you are a man with ambition.
When ganking use your common sense:
-don't go in and ult by yourself against 3 of them unless you are that manly and can do 3 at the same time
-don't initiate unless you are the only man on your team, let someone else imitate and then you semi initiate
-don't stack your ult with someone else's disable, for example Tempest's ult. You are welcome to go in after he ult but if he gets them all you can sit just auto attack away for the squishy. And when it ends right away using your super manly reflex, you do your ult and make them move like rabid rats while you and your team do them up
-then when you genocide them you TP back and casually shop


Late:
With you core item you can now rambo if you want. Be a man. Or you can basically do the same thing you did at mid game by semi initiating and destroying them. Don't forget to use Geometer's Bane after you go in and ult. And use Symbol of Rage when you feel in danger and don't wait til you have 1 hp because there's always a nuker or a stunner somewhere.

True true, Mali's sword is pretty slow to initiate although the ult is kewl. I never got riftshard on Mali but I thought it'd be good so I put it under luxury. I will try it next time.

I was actually gonna add allies/enemies but only ones I could think of are just fellow disable/slows to lane with and primary initiators for allies. For enemies I'm pretty lost to who to put in :S

Well my reason is that it gives you the extra attack speed you need with illusions that seem to help in killing(from my experiences). Plus a little stats and movement speed isn't too bad, although Mali does have a sword throw. And illusions unfortunately do not get affected by the zeal.

It does not get affected by the sword of the damned either but it just helps me I think.

the only thing this guide suggests that's better then R1ces guide is the Power Supply, which I would recommend to all Malikens. At least a mana battery. Early game he's a bit starved for mana and a powersupply is an excellent item for him and almost everyone for that matter.

Well, i think ( but im not sure ) that the splash damage from ult also applies for the illus. So blink in, ult, geo bane and splash them to death xD
