Question about Eul

Okay, I used to play v-tec paintball in starcraft in a small competitive community of players for about two year. A guy named -Eulogy- or some variation played with us pretty often and was a part of our KATO channel. Then W3 came out and he became -Eul and did some melee up to a mediocre level. DoTA came out and his name was all over the credits and it made sense because he was always working on it rather than getting better at his very mediocre orc.

Everyone says icefrog made this game up or whatever, but where does Eul come in to play? Was he just a hack trying to take credit or is it the other way around? I just saw his name mentioned in some other post is why I ask and I'm just curious if its the same guy I used to play Vtec with back when that came out over a decade ago

Eul made DotA on WC3 ROC then WC3 TFT came out and then Guinsoo made DotA Allstars then Icefrog took over DotA Allstars after 6.0 came out.

And i wouldnt even go as far as to say icefag made it more competetive, he just happened to be the guy in charge of the map as it became widespread.

No offence, but 95% of anything icefrog thought up himself was utterly retarded, im very glad he stole so much of the "new" content for DOTA from various mapmaking communities.

Eul created DotA. DotA splintered off into many distinct maps. Guinsoo stole the best heroes from each map and put them into a single one called DotA: Allstar. Guinsoo eventually got addicted to WoW, quit DotA, and after a short succession crisis IceFrog took over.

Wtf im pretty sure Eul stopped ages ago? I remember it got taken over by some other guy (Risonyra or whatever?) at thewarcenter and stopped at 3.7? Been like 5-7 years since i played it so god only knows what happened since then. I miss rowen wendigos and shockwave.

Very right except that I was there for a part of it and there was a HUGE updating hiatus after v5.84c. For over 6months a new version of dota didn't come out. Eventually icefrog took over and for the next 6 months people gradually started playing his version (after 5.84c). Of course the pinoys didnt move on and still played 5.84c wayyy after icefrog was making maps. Pretty weird seeing 6.xx versions of dota in the game list and 5.84c right under it.
