I played, but wasn't very good. I'm much better at Savage 2. Both games are pretty epic.

Own Savage 1, it was a fun game but you can tell it was an experiment. 2nd one is much, much, much better.

surprise in your mouth
How can you say Savage2 is better:P Nowaaaai, its too much item-crap based and commanding is dull, in Savage1 you have way more possibilities as commander, you can do different tactics of tech. etc. in Sav2 you follow a tech tree thats all:(

Yes, Savage 1 was so awesome. Can't really get into Savage 2, for whatever reason.

Because Savage 1 was based on nothing but exploiting buggy physics and following a flowchart commanding ? Let's not forget that there was barely any difference between the tier units besides bigger health and damage, or the simple fact most games end in hour long stalemates.
Savage 2 is much a better game and simply those who prefer the first one weren't good players in the 2nd one.

Yes because liking something more than the other has to do with how good you are at it. L2LOGIC

L2play. Savage 1 plays enjoy the first one because they can exploit the glitches and numerous bugs in the game, whereis Savage 2 fixed most of these issues. It's like those Smash Bros. kids who think they were pro by using "techniques" (read: glitches) in Melee and refused to play Brawl because the glitches were fixed.

What glitches???!!!
Like I said, stop assuming, it makes you look retarded.

Sav1 was more fun, but sav2 was a better game (up until the new melee *sigh*). The only thing I could do in sav1 was shaman whore, sac whore, and spam disruptors and immobilers everywhere

Savage 2 is fun, I just wish more people played it, as of right now the player base is kinda small (which is sad because it's an AMAZING game)

High tier play achieved by abusing glitches, in my opinion, is much more rewarding. Look at Starcraft and all of the glitches and bugs that aren't touched by the balancing team cause knowing and executing these is how you tell the good from the godlike.
Ever wonder how Mutalisks stack perfectly? Or how Terran Vultures shoot from a 360 degree angle?

savage1 felt like a war savage2 felt like 6 people in a fist fight.

Savage2 has MUCH slower gameplay and fighting system than Sav1, also you need a lot more reflex and general skill to be successful Sadist in Sav1, i played Savage2 for the first few days and the game seemed too easy and item/exp/farm based for me, so i went back to Sav1 for some hardcore action. Didnt quite felt like lurking around in bushes waiting for some cookiemonster to pop out to fight him. Nothing beats leaping into middle of legio pack with pred and wiping 4 of em just due skill. Sav1 wins there. Savage2 may be more refined, improved, more better looking but the fact is that its slower and more boring.

I agree with Drasha and Frost, Savage1 was a lot more intense, that's what made it so great.

Savage 1 > any other s2 title.
I used to play Savage 1 in high school LAN.
Beast was a lot easier to play in smaller games, I felt.
I had the most fun commanding and sniping with ballistas though :D

I played it alot back then, sadly, it was ALWAYS lagging like hell.
Had about 150ms+ on every populated server so that's what I always link with Savage...
It was pretty fun tho, loved the concept on Natural Selection aswell.
S1 <3
Much love. Was always nice to pwn EvO guys.

Savage 1 and savage 2 are both great games, I still play them both, prefferably as the Beast horde.
Savage 1 isn't better than 2 .. its good but saying its better is way to much. I remember the commander was spamming towers like crazy and the melee system is boring.
If you don't like Savage 2 trust me you your saying it because you got your *** kicked :D

Not true, HAL have stated that they knew that those "glitches" were possible in regular play before releasing the game. Even if they didn't intend to include those techniques into the game on the planning stages it made the game competitive. Taking them out for Brawl killed any competitive potential the game had, and was a slap to the face for any experienced gamer.
Melee is to Brawl as Dota is to LoL if they added fatigue for running too far
I don't understand why any reasonable person would suggest less complexity in a game if you wanted to attract a more mature crowd. As for Nintendo's case they wanted to attract children into the game.

Wait, are you seriously suggesting Smash Bros. is a competitive game?
Hard to take you seriously when you argue that.

So a bunch of kids talk over a video, whoopie do. By your definition, I can set up a video of a bunch of kids playing Candy Land and make it "competitive" by having a sports commentary.
Smash Bros. was designed as a party game and even the developers said this in several interviews. The man children such as yourself refuse to accept this though.
When Smash Bros. reaches the competitive nature of Starcraft or is a respected game in Evo, then come back here.
