View Full Version : CyberGamer HoN Tournament (February 17 - April 23, 2010)

CyberGamer, in association with S2 Games is proud to announce the CyberGamer S2Games Heroes of Newerth tournament!
CyberGamer will be working alongside the game?s developers, S2 Games, to bring you the highest quality tournament with a top class administrative team.
- Tournament Page:
CyberGamer S2Games HoN Tournament Page (http://www.cybergamer.com.au/pc/honcomp/ladder)
- Rules:
CyberGamer S2Games HoN Tournament Rules (http://www.cybergamer.com.au/pc/honcomp/rules)
- Registration:
Registrations are open now, you can register your team here (http://www.cybergamer.com.au/createteam/pc/honcomp/ladder/). Registrations close Tuesday the 16th of February 2010 11:59pm, and matches start on Wednesday the 17th of February 2010. This will be a 32 team double elimination tournament. We may extend this to 64 teams if enough intrest is shown, so make sure you register now to secure your place in this epic tournament.
The prize will be $300 USD, thanks to S2 Games. CyberGamer may also have some additional prizes to distribute on top of this, though this is yet to be confirmed.
This is an Asia-Pacific tournament, teams from anywhere in the world are encouraged to play in this tournament, but CyberGamer must advise that Asia-Pacific teams will have a time zone preference, unless something else can be arranged between the two teams. We advise you do not partake if you are unable to accommodate to different time zones, as this will waste everyones time and lead to disqualification from the tournament. I'm sure this will not cause many problems for those hardcore teams that really want to win this thing.
Organising times via your match page is the best and the most recommended way of organising times as this reduces the chance of problems occurring.
Admins have the right to disqualify any teams that failed to contact their opposing team or that do not meet the rounds deadline. This in turn, results in a forfeit loss.
Teams have approximately five days (no longer) to decide between each other on what time and date they would be willing to play.
Team captains are required to submit there match ID in the appropriate thread: CyberGamer S2Games HoN Replay Archive (http://www.cybergamer.com.au/forums/thread/49795/CyberGamer-S2Games-HoN-Tournament-Replay-Archive/) with the following details: 'Game Number - Round - Team 1 Vs. Team 2 - Match ID'.
We wish all teams the best of luck with their games and the tournament.

A US team will probably play mid day

A us team will actually have to play anywherr from 10pm or onward depending on time. That's if your lucky enough to get the Aussies on at 2PM. Otherwise its 10PM and its early in the morning for you guys.

What is the actual default time zone? I'm from England so i'm in GMT, some of my team mates are from europe so they use CET.. what is the time zone you are using "asia-pacific" doesnt mean much to be because I'm dumb.
I'm struggling to see how a European team could compete in this though even if we really wanted to :(
You're looking at anywhere between GMT+7 and GMT+10

Oh, the only way I could see EU teams playing in this is if every match was on Weekend perhaps.. whats the match scheduling like, will it allow for each round to be played on Weekends?

If this is true then it doesnt sound so bad, I was converting to Queensland timezone from UK which is like +14 or something?

The 'Registration' link was incorrect and has been removed (will be replaced asap). Some teams such as yours m0ns00n created your team in the Team Directory Page. (http://www.cybergamer.com.au/teams/pc/honcomp/) If your team is in this position, go to this link provided: CyberGamer S2Games HoN Tournament Page (http://www.cybergamer.com.au/pc/honcomp/ladder/) and click on 'Click Here to join the Ladder'. This link is found just above the ladder. To the right of the 'The Ladder time is:'.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I will be moving the teams who haven't already done so.

# 2.7. International teams are entitled to participate in this tournament. Games are to be played by default on the USWest server.
This may change if enough international teams sign up. If it is the case, then I will discuss it with the admin team and chose something more neutral.

USW is as neutral is it gets.
Consider that most Aus/NZ players will get over 150ping to around 250 even 300 on any given server.
The best servers for us are SEA/JPN/USW. Other US servers give large delay which would be unfair for us because it'd likely we'd be getting 300ping whilst others would get barely 200 if at all.
I've played with lotsa people who arn't Aus/Nz and complain when they say there ping is 150 :S. Guess when your used to good/bad net you get used to it.

Please disregard the 'DEFENDING' or 'CHALLENGING' when you are setting a date / time for your match. If you are defending please offer dates / times that you are able to make it. So both teams can come to an agreement on when they can play. Once you have agreed upon a time, an admin will set up the match for you.
If you can't make the dates / times that a team offers you then discuss it in the 'Private Chat between BOTH Teams' box and come to an agreement:

Does an admin have to setup the match, or can we just play when we agree on a time and submit the replay?
Sustain
02-17-2010, 08:00 AM
You have to post in the 'Private Chat Between BOTH Teams' box so admins can set up the match for you. So it removes the reason that it was not an 'official match' and in turn, cause disputes. After you have done that, you can then play the match on the date / time chosen by both teams and then submit the replay in the appropriate thread.

So it will appear on the homepage and on the tournament page. PM me here or on CG and I can set up your casters with access. I really appreciate that you are casting the tournament, thank you.

OMG I am so sorry, I didn't even realise all this time. My bad, I will be sure to refer to it as cybergamer from now on!
But we don't cast the games live because of lack of effective delay... unless you guys wouldn't mind and if it's ok with the teams, then we could. So I guess if that is the case then we could look to post when we plan to shoutcast.

This is actually super confusing.
Check tournament page out and its like a ladder with having nothing scheduled for the past few weeks and Loaded sat on top - I can only assume the final was POL vs Loaded? and Loaded came out on top.
Going to Archieve it again, if someone has REAL proof that this is still ongoing (which it appeasr to not me then show it to me) and I'll move it back.
