My rant

I'd like to think that if I just played random games on my own, that my PSR would be somewhere around 1600-1650. I prefer games around this level too - there's less chance of a spastic that can ruin things.

I've started playing most of my games with a couple of RL friends that I know (and their brothers).

My friends are either unemployed or have shift-type jobs. I can only play in the evenings. Whenever I play without them, I usually win about 60% of games. When I play with them, I lose about 90% of my games. As I mostly play with them, this has decimated my PSR down to about 1350. I'm just getting fed up of losing games with them. The ridiculous thing is that they play so many games in the day, that they manage to win some (it seems!) so their PSRs are about 1500-1600. Even though I know I'm better than them (not being cocky, I just know I am).

I enjoy playing with my friends, but I'd like to win more games. None of us are "bad" players, but it just seems that someone always seems to feed on the team and ruin the game for the rest of us.

I can't really do anything about it - I know that "lol PSR means nothing". I'd just like to have a game that's fair or that I can even win!

You should make scrub accounts. If you are playing with your friends, then get on your bad account and play. who cares if you lose or not, because it's not your official.

By the way, you are extremely biased when you tried to relate how much he sucks with how he is unemployed. Take some critical thinking courses.

Just try not to care as much. I'm in the same boat, but since I enjoy playing with my friends; I'll still contact them to play even though I know it means a loss. Pretty much the only time I win is when I play at 3-6 AM with one of my friends who's decent at the game. High PSR is for people who want it to be high. alt accounts, only playing with people who are good and things like that will boost your PSR, but that doesn't really mean much.

That being said, I do miss playing in 1650+ games :/

I usually play low level 1700 games with my serious online competitive friends but sometimes you don't really want to think "Should we counterward?", "What is the best lineup against this?", "Who initiates first?" and all that crap.
Long day at school (sucks if you are doing law/marketing), off to your part-time job.
You reach home and all you want to do is destress with an enjoyable low level HoN pubstomp. But do you get that? No. :(

I play with my rl friends too, and a couple of new ones. Even though I try to help them as much as I can, they still feed (3 or more of them) and we lose.

Here's where your own individual mentality regarding games come in. If you think you're on your way to becoming a professional gamer/tournament champ/game god, then by all means rage and qq when things don't go out the way you think they should.

For me, I don't really mind having sub-par stats, it's all about fun and games. If it bothers you that your account is feeding, switch to a smurf and dick around. If not, stay with one, and just have fun. It's just a virtual game, you lose some you win some.

Enjoy the friendship you have with your buddies, don't look down on them just because they have padded stats. Enjoy the girlfriend that brings you dinner when you forget to eat while playing. Enjoy the bed that gives you great back support after an all-nighter LAN party (mine's awesome btw, totally worth my 2 month paycheck).

Hope this gets through to you somehow.

I've found I can calm my rage by just buying codex with pebbles and being a completely ridiculous hero. My RL friends don't know the game well enough to tell me that I'm being a massive douche for doing this, so I've found the silver lining to my cloud!

Also my JAC brethren, I left because I never played any games with you (always playing with these RL guys!) and I haven't posted on the forums for ages. Plus I don't really even know what JAC stands for :(

I guess it all boils down to how you get to have more fun. We are playing because we like it, i hope.

Personally, i find the company i keep brings more fun than a higher winrate.

Cant say that ive never thought the "statistically i win more games playing with randoms than i do with friends" thoughts, but my enjoyment in this game doesnt stem majorily from winning.

Sure, its nice to win and its also fun, but sometimes, with the right crowd naturally, it can also be fun losing.

And would you believe it, its less fun losing when i play with my powergaming mates than with my casual mates. A -LOT- less fun. We lose just as often (somewhat), but in a way its less funny to both win and lose when with them.

Most of them are so arrogant that when they win its "what they expected and therefore not worthy of much celebrating" and when they lose its "the worst game of hon ive ever played". You prolly know the story. Not much fun in either of the two outcomes. Theyre still my friends, so im still gonna play with them over randoms.

But if you think that picking a random over a mate will bring you more joy from the game, then go for it. Im just explaining a bit about why I wont.

my understanding was that his friends have a lot of time on their hands, so he often plays with them instead of on his own. this, combined with the fact that they are bad, has resulted in a decline of his psr

maybe YOU should think about taking some critical thinking courses before youre so quick to come down on others
