View Full Version : Scumbag Scout Replays

Just thought i would share with you a few replays of my games with Scout using the Scumbag Scout strategy described in the hero guides section. ive played about 100 games of scumbag scout so far, being the only style of game I play.

whether you think im a douche/noob or the strat is retarded or not or anything else, i dont care. i enjoy playing scumbag scout and you might find these replays interesting to watch or not. if not, ignore the thread.

to describe the exact situation of the game mode:
1v1
Normal Mode (note - NOT all heros)
Forests of Caldavar
All Lanes

so lets get started on the replays:

:scou:v:hell:

im trying to focus on replays which will actually be interesting, and as such, the 9/10 games where the opponent doesnt get anywhere will not be included. this first replay is one where i actually have a horrible early game, but manage to turn it round. it lasts 29 minutes, its from version 1.64 and it starts out with me getting pretty much oneshotted at the top rune.

Match ID: 21427238

the next replay:

:scou:v:slit:

Another match with actually only 2 kills, 1 each. lasted 25 minutes. from version 1.65. this is quite a close game, 2 kills early on, followed by a duel over kongor and then a pushing race.

Match ID: 23244357

The last replay for now:

:scou:v:dead:

Match against deadwood, 2 kills, both for scout, some very near death experiences for scout but got away very luckily. this is just to demonstrate scout v deadwood more than anything else, since deadwood is one of the 2 hardest heros for scout using this strategy (the other being chronos)

Match ID: 23260800

further replay:

:scou:v:warb:

match against warbeast, although kills may not seem like it (i got 7/0 he got 0/10 in KDs) this was a very close game which could have gone either way. warbeast went puzzlebox to open and pushed hard throughout, before spending the second half of the game trying to sneak towers, got 2 base towers and raxed one lane. scout won in the end, just. replay might take a while to upload.

Match ID: 23554394

and another replay:

:scou:v:warb:

my first loss since replays were released! this was a push race against puzzlebox warbeast, he killed kongor at 3 minutes which is when i started to get worried. pushed me for mid rax and top lane tower down before killing me when i tried to gank him at kongor, at which point it was GG.

it looks like my assumption that chronos and deadwood were the 2 worst heros for this strat to play against is turning out to be wrong! warbeast is the new number one!

Match ID: 23766310

*replay update 3/3/10:*

:scou:v:succ:

here is another loss this time against a well played puzzlebox succubus, made the mistake of thinking magic armor was enough to counter her, underused eye silence. recipe for defeat.

Match ID:28245571

:scou:v:succ:

here is a very close win against a well played puzzlebox succubus, learning from the previous mistakes and focusing much more on counter items (shrunken head, nullfire blade) could have gone either way for much of the game. one critical moment where succubus successfully steals a kongor kill and token.

Match ID: 30002943

:scou:v:chro:

i realised i had no chronos matches up here, so i decided to post the best of the ones ive had so far. this is a well played chronos who could have come away with a win, built some basic items and then rushed doombringer. chronos raxed mid and almost won the game before dying and losing the doombringer.

Match ID: 28596086

thats it for now, ill be updating this thread with more replays, i have a few others against other heros (most notably arachna, madman and chronos) but none of them are very close so i didnt think anyone would be interested. if you DO want them i can provide.

so yeah, theres some scumbag scout for you, love it or hate it, its definately effective.

Keep it to one replay for each thread. This makes for easier navigation.

Way to enforce your own rules there...

Way to enforce your own rules there...
Slightly different scenario, since the poster is focusing on a particular hero and not a particular replay.
I'll edit the rules to reflect that.

Funny how the rules can change so abruptly when you forget to enforce them properly, thus making it look less like poor moderating. ;)

This is a new section, so the rules might need some tweaking here and there.
If I have forgotten to add anything else, bear with me. I'd appreciate it if you pointed it out as well.

Thanks for your input. :)

That deadwood and hellbringer were absolutely incompetent, but at least hellbringer built some appropriate items.

EDIT: Just watched slither. Oh the joys of scrubs.

... :(

This is how people farm PSR and then enter 1600 - 1800+ games and feed like crazy to ruin the REAL game even more... Threads like this shouldn't be allowed... let alone replays of it.

Thanks for openly saying who you are though, I'll be wary the next time I join a 1v1.

Epic game against a good madman. He nearly outpushed me in the beginning, but I won the game with a lot of hide and seek :D (and some awesome juking doing the last 10 min)

1v1 is garbage and so are you.

Terrible vids and even worse of a player.

why would you even join a 1vs1 game when it isn't no-stats?

umm, i haven't thought of many counters yet but I'm just wondering if you can do anything vs a bloodhunter with a codex and an eye?

yes, avoid him like mad till ive farmed up enough for frostburn, then i have enough HP to survive his codex.

im yet to lose to a bloodhunter, and several have tried codex.

well if you look at my stats, i usually pick nh, so obviously it's the best hero i can play, my friend on the other usually picks bloodhunter. We wanted to do a 1v1 dual and I actually told him about the codex combo, then I thought about a counter, nullstone. Typically it would block his silence, ulti or codex afaik, if one of the is blocked I'll prolly run till I can engage him when he's not looking. I'd prolly get my nullfire blade early enough to slow + smoke him. So yea, theoretically, he should own me if he lives enough to buy his codex and an eye. Scout is a bit different tho :P That's another 1v1 dual I wanna try with him.

I guess a BH vs scout 1v1 should be built the same way you would build scout, leaving one slot open for eye/wards, silencing yourself after you've ultied him, and just hope you'll get some good brut procs, or something in that general direction, and you would most likely be able to win a 1v1 due to 80% extra base dmg, unstoppable chase speed, and, if lucky, random heals due to mock killing creeps(though youre unlikely to get one, AND other items in a 1v1).

But then again, there's always factors like gpm and general players skill involved. But I think building BH anything BUT codex, and more survivability and/or general DPS, would probably win you the game.

Any hero that needs to outmicro Scout to win beyond right clicking has already lost.

updated the original post with 3 new replays, one versus a good chronos and 2 versus succubus players, 1 a win and 1 a loss. should be interesting watches for people.

i know its an old thread but i figured its better than starting a new one for the exact same thing, so please dont lock.
