I use the one they suggested in this thread (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=45124)
if you download Switch Sound File Converter and click Edit >go to> "Edit Audio in WavePad" it will automatically download WavePad.
That's what I've been using to cut the audio files.

I get the actual audio from youtube and then use "youtube to mp3" websites to convert the audio into mp3s that I edit and convert with WavePad and Switch Sound File Converter.

Edit*- I also just really enjoy doing this lol, after I figured out how easy it was I spend a lot of time working on these now

make their natural movement and attack moves a simple 1-3 syllable saying. I find the more simple sound mods much easier to listen to and dont annoy me (which I think this can really apply to anyone, which is why many people just turn off unit reactions)

I try my best to limit the sounds to 1-2 seconds on movement/attacks and at the same time I try to put out a lottt of sounds so there isn't much repetition.
It's hard sometimes to make them shorter because for instance if they're talking in a sentence they don't put much space between the words I could cut out (if that makes sense?) so sometimes when I would try it would sound weird.
But yes I see your point :)
In the future I will try to keep it short,
I might even go back and make Night Hound's sounds shorter, probably Clint's too. Anyone else you would like to suggest being shortened?

I will try to get Devo out by the end of the week, I'm trying to come up with like 4 sound mods and then request the numbers all at once so I don't have to keep going back and editting my post in the sticky

Yeah Redskin pretty much answered that exactly as I would of lol,
it's hard to rip the sounds out of games, or at least it is for me.
Mostly because I'm not 100% sure how to do it all the time.

If I wanted to do games I'd have to google every game I did and figure out how to extract sounds from each game.
It's just a lot of hassle :(

Yes a youtube video will work, I can do those. Even if they're based on games, as long as it's a youtube video I can do it.

Like for example I've seen youtube videos of StarCraft games; I could potentially import StarCraft unit sounds onto a hero if I wanted to.

Like for example I've seen youtube videos of StarCraft games; I could potentially import StarCraft unit sounds onto a hero if I wanted to.

I think it fits him well (I might be sick for saying this because I truly believe it will appeal to others out there unlike myself :() because MJ at the time was seen as a predator if you get me o.0.

Anyway hope you like my suggestion even if you dont implement it im happy :smile:.

I'm going to go back and edit my earlier sound mods now.
When I started I didn't have as much practice editing as I do now, lol, so some of the sounds were too long.
I'll have the refurbished, shortened Night Hound and a few other heroes out by the end of the week :)

:accu: = Juggernaut, *****! - I changed A TONNN of sounds, made many shorter, and used some tricks I have learned to make all the sounds the same volume. Almost a complete overhaul, except I didn't add any new sounds.

:nigh: = Ask a Ninja - I went through and made many sounds shorter, as a whole he has less time-consuming sounds. He should be more fun to play with now :D

:ophe: = Foxy Cleopatra - I made a few skill sounds louder as requested by a user (sorry I can't remember your name right now I'll edit it in when I get back from class, lol)

:bloo: = Batty - Went through and chopped up some of the skill sounds, now collectively shorter; also edited the blood sense music sound so that it plays only the 'cool part' lol

:witc: = Clint Eastwood - Took out 1 Attack Sound and 1 Move Sound because they were long and unsalvageable; went through and chopped up many of the other sounds. I was going to redo the ulti sound but I still like the original, lol.

Those are the five I really wanted to edit :)
Many of them were shortened as requested by Bukem

:ramp: = Shredder - Minor tweaks to only a few sounds.

:pupp: = Jean Luc Picard - Found out I forgot to replace auto_attack.ogg so I made one of the attack sounds into it. Tweaked a few sounds.

Also, that sig now looks better(black outline=cruddy and borders were too big) xD

it plays 3 slightly off instances of the cat-distraction-sound
(I',m using-sing-sing this cat-cat-cat as a distraction-ion-ion)^^
it plays her standard attack sound too, so it's really messy

Running your sounds through parametric equalizers or even a noise removal filter (Audacity comes with one) would make all these considerably less irritating on the low end. For example, the music in Trinity's various clips can be brought down to just about inaudible levels while leaving the voice clear.

This is my first time ever using sound editing software, ha.
I tried using Audacity's Noise Removal but it makes this really annoying high-pitched squeak sometimes after she talks ha, so I didn't use it I just tried my best to lower the music where I could.

0.3.X Patch Patch: All my sound mods are now compatible with the new patch (to my knowledge anyway, if anybody finds extra sounds from heroes let me know), but you will no longer hear Engineer's new voice over Swedish Chef's.

:engi: = Swedish Chef I changed all his grunt sounds to fit Swedish Chef, he also has a death sound now and a few more skill sounds and misc.

HoNklok I swapped around one of the tracks for the new 'menu.mp3.', I've been having issues with the lobby music, it doesn't always play for some reason. The in-game music still works.

:dead: = Hulk his voice didn't change my mod at all, I didn't even have to tweak it.

...And you can bet I'm going to get started on a Behemoth Sound Mod and a Predator Sound Mod ASAP, their new voices REALLY annoy me.

UPDATE: So, so sorry guys I have not been updating this regularly like I used to. I have been super busy trying to get a job. I also had Finals ANNND I got a new girlfriend so I have been swamped. I will seriously be considering Behemoth sound mods all this week. By the end of the week I want to put out three sound mods to make up for all my time away. I have been very surprised how many downloads I got during my time away (like 100+ haha).

How do I take one of the ones you already did and make for another hero? I want the the juggernaut on swiftblade lol

Hm, this is kind of an involved response.
First of all you would have to unpack the resources0.s2z HoN file (MAKE A COPY FIRST!! NEVER EDIT THE ORIGINAL FILE)
Now find the hiro folder that is inside the heroes folder (at least I think that is what Swiftblade's folder is called off the top of my head).
Then you would have to unpack my resourcesOMaM_Juggernaut.s2z sound file.
Take all the .ogg's you find and copy and paste them into Swiftblade's file. I wouldn't suggest changing his ability sounds though... Because you're going to get weird outcomes.
Make a new folder and name it 'heroes.' Place the new 'hiro' folder with all of the new .ogg's into the new 'heroes' folder.
Zip up the 'heroes' folder into a 'resources%%%%.s2z'

That should work, if it doesn't play around with it a little bit until it does work.

I've been trying so hard to finish the Kermit one but he's been kind of hard to get lines for.
In the meantime I am releasing John Wayne & Ace Ventura; two sound mods I had made to make up for being late (I finished those before Kermit for crying out loud!!)

Anyways, just so you guys can get a feel for what I test for; Ace Ventura isn't completely done yet but um...
My beta tester (he's just a close friend that I let try them out before release) has been laughing so hard he's crying and complaining about headaches.
See, when I made the grunt sounds, I kept this "WOOOH!" on accident so it sounds like an ambulance when he attacks haha.

The grunt sounds are getting a bit of a touch-up lol but this sound mod is proving to be one of my favorite thus far.
As soon as I get the other half of his sounds done he'll be released.
Shouldn't take long, the Ace Ventura movies were gold mines of one-liners.

Hello, i have a request. I just bought Flamboyant Announcer Pack. And the Sounds, when a Tower is attacked/destroyed which come VERY often just kill me. Is there a way to keep all the flamboyant sounds but to disable the ones for anything that has to do with towers?

I'M NOT DEAD! :D ...Part Two?
It's been a long time fellas; I quit playing HoN for a while but I don't want to get into why. Now that it's free and has a bunch of new features I've slowly been getting into it again. There has been a reason why I haven't been modding in the meantime; not that long ago I got caught torrenting lol so that pretty much slowed my ability to get sounds for the mods to a screeching halt. I do plan on doing this but now that I can't torrent it might go a little slower and I'll be much more limited in the characters I can actually do. Before I tried to stray away from doing a lot of characters from the same series but now I don't have that luxury anymore. There's going to be a lot more sound mods coming in from the same series' (more Futurama, Family Guy, etc) characters.

I just wanted to keep you guys updated on what was going on! If this new plan works out then we'll be back in business :D. If it doesn't... Well, let's just say I'll be pumping out more sound mods MUCH MORE SLOWLY. So Cross your fingers.

In any case I hope to eventually add more memes to Memesmith sometime this week!

Ah yes, that is definitely one of my favorites.

I'm pretty sure I can do that so yes, I can Mod that for you and PM the file to you if you'd like.
I could either make it so that nothing plays when a tower is attacked OR put the default announcer voice only for that sound.
