Hey everyone, I've been kinda practicing Magebane when it fits the picks good, and I was wondering if I've improved at all, and what I need to improve on? There was a lot of **** talking this game but it was still fun. I had some QQ moments, a lot of us did it was a very intense game.

Any tips/advice would be great, thanks

...woops.
lol :P
Well the reason I didn't was early game I wasn't getting much farm so I decided to skip them since magebane has good mobility, then finally when I was getting farmed I didn't feel like I needed them. Next time I'll do that my bad.
[Which boots? Post haste for greater mobility?]

I like Str. Steamboots for the HP/ias and eventually agi steamboots for 35ias/10dmg. Others get phase for the unitwalking & dmg.

Steamboots are sufficient for Magebane. He has good movespeed already and he should be focusing on getting his rapage items, rather than saving for boots of travel.

Due to Magebane's excellent mobility, Post Haste and Phase Boots are not necessary. Steamboots provide you with attack speed and additional health which is invaluable on a carry like Magebane. Plated Greaves I would not recommend as they are a support item.
Remember, Boots are the most important item in the game. Every hero should get boots at some point or another, and earlier is better.

I normally go steamboots, basher, the lifestyle that lets you get creeps, then either shieldbreaker or the super lifestyle item, then get the other one that i didnt get first, then finally geometers and then if i can get butterfly
i cant remember half the names but yeah thats what i go

recently, I've been seeing a lot of heroes get runed axe on magebane. They say it solves all your mana problems and also enables you to farm like crazy.
basic cheap items to get are
- logger's hatchet
- iron shield
- helm of the black legion if you are owning in your lane and have farmed fast.
After that it's either shield breaker, brutalizer, wingbow, or helm of the dominator.

I disagree with the iron shield, I usually go 2 sets of tangoes and then an axe, which gets me to my life tube. From there it's just a matter of going for the two swords and the mana tube and after that farming like crazy.

One question:
Is it a good idea to learn to play magebane?
Is he even picked in all those high tier games?

Depends / Yes.
One typical high-tier lane people do is Magebane + Vindicator - it counters many "dual stun" lanes by destroying their mana pools around level 1-2.
It's done by very early harass and trying to get the enemies to discharge their nukes early, without causing too much damage. The goal is to keep farming after level 3 and shutdown the lane.
Similar options are Plague Magebane and Demented Magebane - with exactly the same application - tryint to rush/harass early before the dual stun lane gets powerful, and farm up tanking items while they are shutdown.
Magebane has one huge advantage over other carries - he grows very fast when allowed to farm basic items. The built in Damage from Mana Burn and Ultimate finisher, along with high mobility and +15 magic armor for the team.
He can then join his team on pushing/ganking and act as the finisher after winning team fights - chasing people down.
One of the few heroes that can catch endgame farmers like Zephyr, Sand Wreith and Chronos.
My favorite item build is Steamboots, 2x Forified Bracelets, Mana Battery - and start destroying enemy casters in fights/ganks for an early push win.
He's one of the few heroes I would -consider- getting Helm of the Bad pLayer - if the strat is to Rax by 25 minutes and the enemy team is low on finisher nukes. High end items? Highly depends on who you face and if you plan to end the game fast.
It's important to get Shrunken Head vs certain lineups as you can't dodge some types of stuns and it allows you to find and destroy enemy initiators before they have a chance to pounce on your team.

Magebane is my favorite hero atm :). I usually build him to max out attack speed for faster mana depletion -> ult. I like to start out with 1x runes of blight, 1x health potion, 2x +3 agi, and 2 minor totems, then get my loggers hatchet after the first wave or two, then finish my iron shield. After that I get basic lifesteal to stay in lane longer and for doing a bit of jungling. Then I get my steamboots and start working on a charged hammer. I usually go charged hammer over ruined axe because the attack speed bonus synergizes well with your mana burn and the aoe, while not as strong as ruined axe, still gets the job done nicely. I finish my whispering helm somewhere in there, too, then get a brutalizer then wingbow. If the game still isn't over I upgrade my whispering helm to a symbol of rage. I'm no pro by any means, but that item build works well for me.
