Looking for a good single player game [Archive]

Hey guys, I'm looking for something to play casually. I've already beaten Fallout 3 and Oblivion, thought the stories of both were interesting but the actual gameplay to be kinda meh. I have Torchlight, which is a little too mindless for me. Any suggestions?

Mass Effect 2 if you want to kill some stuff with cool guns.

Knights of the Old Republic I &II if you want to be absolutely addicted to an RPG and get your lightsaber on.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is a great game (although a little buggy sometimes, but so's Oblivion, so what the hell xD). You can probably find mods that fix most of the bugs, anyways.

Casual game? Peggle or an actual game to play? my favorite Casual, play for maybe 5~10 minutes game is Peggle.

I would not get Borderlands, it gets to old to quick and PC Multiplayer is brokenly stupid and impossible to connect to.

The number one single player game i dumped most of my life into was Morrowind, because it was much harder then oblivion. But with old hat graphic I won't suggest getting it.

No one has specifically come out and given me reason to delete posts or anything but let's keep in mind that pirating is illegal and we should not promote it, no matter how discretely we do so.

Downloading games, unless you're doing direct2drive/steam/etc is illegal.

Uhh Dawn of War 2 isn't a xbox 360 game and doing so is illegal unless you intend on purchasing them.

Actually , on a semi-related note, I played a game called "Pool of Radiance" almost 20 years ago on NES, even though the graphics, interface and music are ludicrously bad for today, I still hold it as one of the best AD&D video games in existence.

Hmm I googled it and there's a sequel; do you know if it's any good either?

The graphics look kinda like runescape xD

age of empires 2 : conquerors
also if you have a PS2 i HIGHLY reccomend all three Onimushas. several weeks spent on those playing them through a couple times.
dungeon siege 2 and its expansion (broken world) are incredimazing games if i might say so myself. (its like diablo but u control several people making it win)
i would also reccomend mass effect 1/2 AND as far as brain dead lulzy games? Plants vs. Zombies. an awesome defense game

Well since you liked Fallout 3 and Oblivion, have you played Morrowind? Its the third Elder Scrolls game where Oblivion is the fourth. and seeing as how Bethesda made the two games you mentioned and in the very same style, you might actually enjoy Oblivions predecessor.

I find Morrowind clearly superior to Oblivion, but if youre a graphicswhore, then going back in time to earlier games wont make you happy though. If you on the other hand prefer substance over packaging then Morrowind is the obvious suggestion.

You can also download a fan-made mod called MGE (Morrowind Graphic Extender) which makes Morrowind quite a bit prettier.

Other than that, dont forget the DLCs for Oblivion (dont bother with the ones for FO3). Shivering Isles in particular is brilliant.

Oh, and its not nice to beat your games, they havent done you anything, next time just complete them.

i repeat, for amazingly awesomesauce single player, Dungeon Siege 2: Broken World. play through both stories, welllllll worth it. although tbh i know gas powered games is still around and its hosted kinda on gamespy so you might be able to find it but i havent seen it anywhere in any D2D service or store of any kind. (not perpetuating torrenting but just giving my search information :( )

Recently I have played harvest moon on SNES emulator again :D havent played for like 10 years, if your interested in those kind of games an emulator will sure please you.

I am fan of old games in general havent really played any of those new fancy games yet O.O i only chose an online game and play that for like a couple of years so i guess I miss alot.

I think the people that make irrelevant bullshit movies are worse.

And the ones that actually posts them to youtube clearly deserve to die painfully over a 78 hour period.

And dont get me started on the people that make irrelevant bullshit movies and then posts them to youtube, that does the whole thing improvised.

On Topic: Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn + ToB expansion = massive amounts of win. Get over the old graphics and you have one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

General rule of thumb is, if you are wasting the time to find a ROM for a game, chances are you've owned it at some point in your life and are nostalgic for it/never finished it.

I know that's how I am, anyway. I do that a lot with most of the Zelda/Final Fantasy series. I have the games still, just too lazy to hook up the console involved.

I can vouch for Dungeon Seige 2 (One of the most underrated games of the decade if you ask me) and Dragon Age: Origins. I love DA:O and have some very fond memories of hacking and slashing my way through dungeon seige 2!!!

Oh yeah, and I played this game in its entirety like... 20 times because i did it at school, and my teacher would always delete my saves after she found out where i hid em, one time she turned my computer off during the credits after beating the guy for the first time

so, i told the teacher i would have stopped playing the game had she let me finish the credits, and then I restarted the game again.

Never actually got through the credits, but I beat the game like 5 times and passed the class.
