When to buy Symbol of Rage

Is it a good idea to get it after your :Shieldbreaker: & :ShrunkenHead: on :warb:? Or perhaps a good idea on :bloo: after DPS (such as :Mock: & :Riftshards:) items? Is Symbol good for Maliken?

Is Symbol core on any heroes, or is it just extreme luxury? I haven't really since a Symbol in any HoN games (I'm only in 1600 PSR tier, though), I think I have upgraded my Whispering Helm into Symbol once while playing as a zoo :warb:.

I like to get Symbol of Rage as a first item as Maliken, since it enhances your damage as well as health. Also, when you initiate as Maliken with your blink + ult, you may get focused, so it's nice to have your symbol as soon as you can.

I like building whispering helm > steam boots > symbol of rage.

It has an easy build up also, since you need the whispering helm on Maliken for ancient stacking.

I really love this item. I take it on any stregth carry when I can, and even some agi heroes just for the massive HP boost and amazing active with its low cooldown.

Since I get whispering helm on puppet to ancient stack I like to upgrade it to symbol later if game is stilll going after my harkon's

It's nice on heroes that you already build Whispering Helm on as a luxury.

Helm of Rage gives insane survivability, but getting helm of rage is really hero dependant.

For example:

A maliken build would look something like:
Whispering Helm (To creep stack)
Insanitarious
Shrunken Head
Helm of Rage

Soulstealer build:
Post Haste
Portal Key
Shrunken Head
Whispering Helm
Riftshards
Helm of Rage

It's definitely not a first item you get, and you get it on heroes who need survivability, or already use the whispering helm.

when you have good dmg, or when you find that you are losing in an autoattack battle.

if you are constantly getting disabled and nuked down, or lacking dmg, do not get it.

Maliken has low base damage, so the lifesteal is pretty minimum, unless he bursts into demon mode and starts pounding away AoE stealing from multiple targets. If you had Riftshards on MaliGod then maybe yes, because your AoE would be huge and if you hit a crit, even bigger. Oh, and with his ridiculously low health, if the enemy isnt dead in the 3.5 seconds, you will be dead by the 4th.

Mali should go heart + riftshards, depending on whether you prefer to soak it up, or dish it out. Symbol of rage tried many times, just did not work good enough. Same with Insa on Maliken... Seriously? He already has very low health and unless you are versing tards, you wont last long at all.

I think i've made it one time throughout the entire time i've played HoN (non -em games), and maybe twice during my time playing DotA (em games)

It's not really an item that I would ever consider core for any hero, it's a thing I get when a game is going on way longer than humanly possible and i'm playing a hero I get whispering helm on.

Str boots + Symbol + Heart works wonders.
So does runed axe.For when u dont have the ult form.Don't judge.Makes ancients stacks die in a breeze.

I always get it as either first or second DPS item(always steamboots first) on maliken(always go whispering helm first anyhow) and it works for me. Check out this replay(em mode I know, but only one I've played maliken on since replay patch)

Edit: I always get it on moonqueen after shrunken head aswell, then you're unkillable

Good on any hero that has whispering helm.

Moon Queen and Maliken are the best heroes to get it on as a luxury (After shrunken head).

You could also get it on :warb:, combined with the abyssal skull you'll likely have you'll get 40% natural lifesteal and if you have a Shrunken Head you would be pretty unstopable.

Aura based lifesteal stacks with non-aura based lifesteal. Since Abyssal Skull is an aura, it will stack with regular lifesteal. It is also worth noting that Predator's lifesteal skill will stack with both auras and regular lifesteal.
