The series begins with a dopey-helmeted boy named Jeraziah befriending a magic preteen girl named Nymphora, and together they go on a quest to find the magic Tokens of Life. Along the way, they meet and befriend a plethora of Heroes of Newerth. Jeraziah also undergoes rigorous training regimes and educational programs in order to fight in the 1500 Pubstars Tournament, a competition involving the most powerful heroes in the world. Outside the tournaments, Jerry faces diverse villains such as Demented Shaman, the Electrician's Army, the Corrupted Disciple and his offspring Night Hound, who eventually becomes Jeraziah's ally.

As a young adult, Jeraziah meets his older brother Accursed, who tells him that they come from a demon army called the Hellbourne. Jeraziah refuses to help and eventually defeats Accursed, after which he begins to encounter other enemies from the north, most notably the Hellbourne prince Maliken, who becomes his rival and, eventually, his ally as well. He later encounters Hellbringer, the galactic tyrant responsible for the destruction of the world tree, whose actions cause Jeraziah to transform into a legendary Support Carry. After an epic battle in the Darkwood Vale, Jeraziah defeats Hellbringer, avenging the lives of millions of legionnaires.

Four years later, a group of heroes from the former Hellbourne army appear, seeking revenge against Jeraziah. During this time, an evil life form called Soulstealer emerges and, after absorbing thirty of the androids to increase his damage, holds his own aeon of strife tournament to decide the fate of newerth, but is eventually defeated by Jeraziahs's first child Rampage. Seven years later, Jeraziah is drawn into another battle for the universe against an extraterrestrial named Deadwood. Joined by Night hound and Rampage, Jerry succeeds in destroying the evil half of Deadwood and the good half, the Keeper of the Forest, settles down with them. Ten years later, at another aeon of strife Tournament, Jeraziah meets Deadwood's human reincarnation, SCOUT . At the end of the series, Jerry takes THE SCOUT away on a journey to train him as Newerth's next carry.

Jeraziah has been raised alone and isolated from the world by his uncle Blacksmith and aunt Valkyrie. All this changes one day when Blacksmith purchases the ever-fussy Armadon and cryptic Pollywog from a tribe of beastmen. When Pollywog runs away, Jeraziah is nearly slain by a horde of rampaging Sand Wraiths, only to be saved at the last minute by the wise Zephyr. Soon, he finds himself caught up in the great conflict against the Hellbourne, joined by the rogue Scout and his companion Pandamonium in a quest to rescue the Lady Ophelia, who is held prisoner by the Corrupted Disciple and Maliken. The rescue is successful, but Zephyr falls at Maliken's hand, and the Legion is nearly destroyed until Jeraziah delivers a precisely timed righteous strike to destroy the Hellbourne Shrine, killing Corrupted Disciple and securing victory.

All is not well, however. Maliken is relentless in his desire to exterminate the legion, and soon the armies of the Hellbourne swarm the Legion barracks, destroying them and scattering the Legion forces. Jeraziah is separated from his friends, and seeks training from the wise Thunderbringer to gain better control of his abilities. Sadly, Ophelia, Scout, and Pandamonium are captured by Maliken when, after being tracked down by the Bloodhunter, Scout's friend Glacius betrays them, and Jeraziah leaves despite Thunderbringer's wishes to save his friends. He is almost successful, Glacius experiencing a change of heart and saving Ophelia, Pandamonium, and Armadon, but Scout is unfortunately frozen by one of Glacius's devices and given to Bloodhunter to be delivered to the obese Devourer. Jeraziah faces Maliken in a fierce duel, where Maliken delivers stunning news : He is Jeraziah's father! Jeraziah is nearly struck down and Maliken believes him dead, but he is rescued by Glacius at the last minute.

A daring plan is made to save Scout, and Devourer's palace is infiltrated by Ophelia - but she is unmasked and taken to be Devourer's slave, though not before freeing Scout. Jeraziah himself comes and slays the Devourer's pet War Beast, thus sealing their fate as sacrifices to the mighty Soulstealer. A fight erupts, Ophelia strangles Devourer, Bloodhunter thrown to the Soulstealer in the melee. From here, the Legion learns dire news - a second Hellbourne Shrine is in the process of being constructed, and is sheltered within the confines of the jungle. A strike team led by Jeraziah, Scout, and Ophelia sets forth. Ophelia is nearly killed, but is able to befriend the feral Predators and with their aid, overwhelm the army of Hellbourne Electrician's guarding the towers protecting the shrine. Jeraziah faces Maliken in one final duel, and upon refusing to turn to the Hellbourne, Maliken brings forth his rage when he threatens to corrupt Ophelia - recently revealed to be Jeraziah's long lost sister! Jeraziah strikes down Maliken, and comes face to face with the dire Torturer, who delights in tormenting Jeraziah until, seeing his son's suffering, Maliken strikes him down. Despite his redemption, the wounds suffered by Maliken overtake him, and Jeraziah later burns his corpse in the jungle as a strike team led by Glacius and Pandamonium successfully destroys the second shrine.

With the Hellbourne armies now scattered and weak, Jeraziah, now the last of the Legionnaires, sets out to rebuild the ancient and venerable order, while Ophelia and Scout fall in love, and decades later Pandamonium is killed by a massive tree hurled by the malevolent Deadwoods, though saving Scout's son Swiftblade in the process.

Not entertaining.

Just one giant ramble attempting to fit as many hero names in as little amount of sentences as possible.

And yes, I'm aware you're trying to replay the story of Star Wars.

IS this at all based on a different book or story? because for some reason it seems awfully familiar.
