Just to let everyone know, as our first small HoN lan tournament, this is a 3v3 setting as we want it to be easy for people to form teams to come down.
When this tourney succeeds, we will be hosting bigger 5v5 tourneys with bigger and better prizes :)

3's is a good size for a tourney but why Darkwood Fail

Just thought it'd be more approachable again, same reason we're having it 3v3. Also, we're trying to keep the matches short-ish as it's a 1-day LAN tourney with potentially a lot of teams. FoC is a pretty big map, Darkwood means we can have quicker more intense matches :)
When we do the 5v5 tourney, we'll be doing FoC ofc, but we need to make this 3v3 a success first! :D

Got 5 Teams and the list is growning, only 3 more spots left!
We've also changed the tournament to be Banning Pick - All Heroes which should make for some more diverse fights :D

We are going to be having the final, semi-finals, third place match and any other notable matches casted by Honcast staff. :)
With 9 teams so far it's looking great, just over a week left to get your teams ready. We're extending signups to the 25th, so you've got an extra 4 days to get your teams registered guys!

We were thinking of making it only 8 teams, but decided to remove the cap on the teams to accomodate for the amount of interest we're getting for this tourney :)

"L"amerbase came in and destroyed the local gaming centres - installed their corporate money grabbing hands on each city they visit - and it is their intention to continue to do so. Do not feed the capitalist extortionists. Gaming should not cost > 3GBP per/hour
GBReading1

Tamlar, while your opinion is your own and I can't do anything to change that, I'd like to defend our centre in particular.
Reading had absolutely no form of gaming centre or even an arcade, so we've actually brought gaming to Reading in a way that people would usually have to travel to London to experience. While Gamerbase is part of a corporation, each centre is governed by it's own staff and we're trying to create our own type of events and competitons to get people into the competitive gaming scene without having to face professional teams straight away.
This HoN tournament is an example of this, aside from online leagues there are no HoN tournaments available in the UK (short of i39 which isn't particularly accessible for new players) so we're just trying to bring people together to play and compete for prizes, what's so wrong with that? :)

Hey I'm interested in coming to this with a friend. We need a 3rd though so I've msged Lewis, and if anyone else is interested feel free to pm me.
It says on the site that a deposit needs to be paid in store but I wont be able to travel to Reading until the weekend now. If i can confirm a team by tomorrow will that be ok GBReading1? I might call the centre tomorrow regardless just to check.
If not it will be fun to just come and watch the other teams :)

We've waived the deposit scheme at the moment, so it's no worries mate, just either post on here, the gamerbase site or send us an email either tonight or tomorrow and we'll add you to the teams!
We've also got a regular player here who's looking for a team, you can PM him on ChaosPhoenix or PhoenixRage
See you on the day :)

We are struggling to find a decent 3rd player so just keep the teams as they are for now I guess. If we happen to find someone I'll contact you asap and see if it's still convient to sign up.
Looking forward to just spectating regardless so can't lose :)

Great news guys :) It's all edited up now, looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
If you guys feel like turning up early to get some practice in or just to chillout and play some xbox/ps3, the centre's open from 11am.There's food venues really close by too, so it's easy to grab some lunch before if you're travelling down. :)
We'll be looking to get signups done by 12.30 and to start the tournament around 1pm.

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone that came down last sunday and congratulations to the eventual winners [M4M]Saiku, [M4M]Rooshan and [M4M]Holahu!
Some of the match ID's have been sent to HoNCast and I'll update this thread when they are complete! :)
Teams present on the day
Team 1 - Mayonnaise & Mustard - Saiku, Rooshan, Holahu
Team 2 - PSOP - DazzyP, GameFaceOn, Piper
Team 3 - PTP - Pedro, ChaosPhoenix, Toriah
Team 4 - No Daddy Not The Cupboard - Zaccubus, Lewis, Smit
Team 5 - WCO - Wolfo, Sniggles, Weobaby
Team 6 - IoN - myStylez, Tw!st, Leo
Team 7 - Farmer Boys - EdwardONeill, Extr3meOwnz, cuf1sh
The day was brilliant with some very intense matches in the group stages, leading to some very hard fought finals. All the Match ID's can be found at the bottom of this post.
The only downside of the day was that the final match had to be cut short as team WCO had to leave early due to travel arrangements leaving them no choice but to take a very early concede in the final match to team M4M.
The teams were fine with this decision but we're waiting on an online rematch to determine the "true" winner of this tourney :)
