Blizzard are the gods of delays and i recall them announcing they were only gonna release a game each year which would mean Starcraft 2 is due this year.

but things could always change.

well theres no denying blizzards quality in a game, going from Starcraft to Warcraft with a Diablo on top all of their games have been a massive success and now with that Cash Cow running non stop the stakes are raised for them, i mean what can you truly do (with a game) with all the money you'll ever need?

No, im the guy that gets sad when his beloved gaming company that previously has raised the bar for games decided to make mass appeal **** instead of innovative new games, just because they got rich.

Warcraft 1 and 2 was good, SC1 was good, D1 was good.

The rest of their games never reached the same level of quality, although being widely popular.

And with WoW they reached the lowest point ive ever seen a gaming company reach.

One is a RTS, the other is a RPG. How can you say one is better then the other?

I'm looking forward to both of them, but D3 a bit more. I hope it won't be released with those slightly upgraded wow gfx. That is just not right.

I've gotten so much replay value out of daiblo II that i almost feel obligated to buy d3. i was even thinking about starting up on d2 again since i've been so bored lately. the community for d2 was just always appealing to me

I honestly dont know why you guys are so fond of hack and slash games, but at least im perfectly okay with it.

I LOVED the mage v mage pvp in D1 with teleport and fireball tho, that was epic. 200 APM required, i loved it.

Honestly, I don't give a **** about Star Craft 2 itself.

The SDK / Editing tools are what I want. I want to be able to play all sorts of insane game types / modes / maps a la WC3 in current-gen graphics, because WC3 isn't cutting it.

Diablo 3 on the other hand, should be great for a few weeks of Co-Op goodness.

Regardless, Blizzard is getting 100$ from me within the next two years.

SC2 was supposed to come out at the end of 2009. And it's still not here.

I, for one, cannot wait for D3 to come out =D I adore RPGs, I just find them to be more fun than RTS.

That's because they've already revolutionized every market they've jumped into.

What's that? Most RTS's follow the steps of WC2/SC/WC3? What's that, they made battle.net and have had dozens of companies roll out their "battle.net" equivilents? What's that they completely redefeined what an "MMO" is and are crushing the competitors so hard it's almost embarassing? Diablo II being one of the best action/rpg games of all time and has yet to have a game stand up to it in terms of fun and replayability? Oh, ok.

Fact is, I couldn't care less if they don't give a **** about innovative games. If the diablo II engine needed to be innovated more, or if SC wasn't about as perfect of an rts as could be made then maybe I might give one ****. Not two, but just one. But they don't. Blizzard is the masters of gaming as far as I'm concerned. No single company will ever match the greatness that is and was Blizzard gaming.

You seem to be more upset about there games being popular then actual innovation. WoW is, for better or worst, the best MMO out there. You may not think that, but I guarantee you if you were to poll every person in the world about what MMO is there favorite with every MMO ever made listed, WoW will come up number one.

As for D3/SC2, how do you expect them to innovate it more. Especially with the fanbase Blizzard has, you don't fix what isn't broken.

In fairness, aside from The Lost Vikings, Blizzard has never made anything truly innovative. Every game they have made is a rehashed version of another game which was popular at the time, prettied up a bit, with a little new content.
