Defiler FAQ?

For the defiler I have noticed a few things.

1) Level makes almost NO difference
2) Deaths make almost NO difference
3) Intel items are NOT for starting levels
4) HP is your friend
5) +XX damage items help a LOT
6) Movement speed is IMPERATIVE
7) Defiler seems to be made for three purposes
A) Tower killing
B) Creep Killing
C) Denials like a MOFO

I would like to know how much of these discoveries are correct plx.

1. Partially correct. She is not too item dependent in terms of how effective her killing/pushing ability is. However, LVL3 ult is beast compared to LVL2, compared to LVL1, etc.
2. See above.
3. No clue what you mean here--but most intel items, yes, aren't that great on her. She tends to farm easily, so getting the tanky items is easy for her.
4. Yes.
5. They're actually quite worthless on her.
6. It's imperative yes, but it's also natural on her. E. Marchers are the best for her.
7. She's multi-role--great hero killer too. Her denies are quite strong thanks to her great animation too.

So you're right, for the most part--Defiler is a ridiculous beast.

Level and deaths make no difference? Of course they do. Dying a lot hinders your farming and you leveling so your base stats are much lower and your ultimate won't be as high leveled. Damage items are good because the spirits' damage is based on Defiler's damage.

Defiler is just like Krobelus. You need to constantly gank her and always have somebody with massive burst damage such as Pyromancer to take her down quickly.

Krobelus's Exorcism spirits are based off of her damage.

It's true unless you're playing competitive where if you have trash items and you're underleveled you will be killed easily. Everybody knows to constantly gank and kill a Defiler. In team battles, everybody knows that the Defiler goes down first. If a Defiler has **** for items and is underleveled she will have low armor and low HP which makes it easy to instagib her with nukes such as those from Pyromancer or Thunderbringer.

Orbs stack in HoN its not all the same as dota and i have not read any thing in HoN that says they scale of her damage.

Go try it out if you don't believe me. Just because the orbs stack doesn't mean that everything else must be different too. I'm also guessing that you never knew that Krobelus's damage in DotA improved her spirits' damage from exorcism.

Without items she can't tank, if she can't tank she can't stay in fights with her ulti up. Wrong.

3) Intel items are NOT for starting levels

Getting some marks of the novice for carrion spamming isn't a bad idea

She's meant to be built like a tank

5) +XX damage items help a LOT

Enhanced Marchers + her passive is enough

You read that she heals 25% of the damage her spirits do at the end of the ulti.

Maybe you should have "tried it out"

Anyway, damage items on Defiler = Useless.

just get tank items like bloodstone/shiva/heart (sac heart/frostshield/heart)
and travels so you can push reallly nicely, don't liek enhanced marchers on krob/def cuz i love the teleport for swapping to a different lane rite when they decide you pushed far enough for a gank xD
