Greetings,

Welcome to the new Off Topic forum. As some of you may have noticed, the previous forum had gone through a pretty steep rate of degradation over the last couple of months. It had reached the point, where the content was unacceptable for an official games forum. Even for an Off Topic forum.

As a result of this, we have decided that in the best interest of the forum, and the community it is necessary to start over - a reboot if you will. Our intent is to keep this as a place where you can discuss everyday, legitimate topics in a civilized and rational manner that are not related to Heroes of Newerth. Topics such as music, movies, books, etc.

At this time, I will be the only dedicated moderator for this forum. Any dispute, issue, policy or content question, should be brought forward to myself directly. You can reach me either by forum PM (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=32451) or IRC.

Please make sure to read the following rules if you intend to stick around and continue posting here. Be aware that all other site-wide rules still apply here.

Do not harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another Member or guest that is unwanted.

Do not transmit or facilitate distribution of Content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Hate speech is not tolerated.

Do not post, transmit, promote, or distribute content that is illegal.

Anyone posting anything that is not in the good nature of this forum will receive a forum infraction, and possible forum suspension.

Please observe the rules and regulations in which you agreed to by joining this community.

Thank you.

After about a week, I have observed a few trends since the OT changes:

- Overall thread quality has improved significantly
- The majority of posts belong to a larger subset of users than before
- Many users want to mold the forum into the kind of content they want rather than trying to stick with what the forum is designed to contain.

This last part hasn't really been a problem, but in the interests of giving the section a concrete purpose to evaluate exactly what will work and what won't, we are experimentally turning on Thread Moderation for this section.

What that means to you: posting will mostly be the same. New topics, however, will require a moderator to approve them before they are visible. In most cases, it shouldn't take very long for a moderator to approve or delete your thread. If your thread gets deleted, you should get a PM explaining why.

If you have any feedback about this change, feel free to PM me (link in sig).
