In about 12 weeks, UKs biggest LAN party will kick off at the Newbury Racecourse. The biggest prize pool in Competitive HoN scene so far at a staggering initial ?1500, however should 48 teams sign up, the prize fund will hit ?2,500, and should 96 teams up then the prize fund is doubled to a whopping ?5,000. 96 teams? That's 1/4 of the attendence!
I'm not entirely sure it'll work, in all honesty. I've never had great success with the internet connection at the iSeries games (although Newbury was better than Stoneleigh).
However, if someone wants to set up a random team to enter, I might be convinced to come along. They are good fun.
If we're going to multiplay events, though, the StratLANs are much more social events.

Well there you have it :-p
I wonder if we'll be able to get a few teams together for it? Maybe better luck on the multiplay forums?

Edit: He posted that before I did. No idea why he's ahead of me, we're in the same timezone!

We'd obviously have shaping for this sort of thing in place Gowerly, so there will be 0 problems with connecting to online servers for the tournament :)

It's a lan tournament, so being there is required I would guess! Feel free to show up and sort out a team at the time though, the i39 forums over on the Multiplay website might help you sort out a team prior to the event.

Exciting news, that should motivate more Europeans about the future of HoN.

Love to see S2 Boost European efforts!

Are you guys playing?

Considering it's the day after the HoN Launch even which will also go late until probably 3AM i doubt it.

I dont know.. maybe not the american top teams, but unique e-sports are going there, and what used to be GG7 - now EPROX gaming are going.. both known teams.

Admittedly I am pretty unimpressed with the number of teams entering though.

I'm supposed to be coming along to this, but looks like I won't have the time anymore! :(

unique aint signed up and your clan eprox only have 2 people paid. The main problem ive seen with the competitive scene so far is that all the best players are children and cant attend these events :)

We are a new team, pretty much a mix of old ev and GG7, so we didnt really expect to win. uQ were defo a level above us, however it was a fun event event and meeting uQ was a fun experience.
