Slither Overpowered?

So in every game I've played with Slither, he's dominated. He's been able to OHK most of the other team. His ult damages you faster than the healing well can heal you (not much, but a bit faster). That's insane. I tend to play a lot of AGI/INT heroes with low HP, but Slither still does massively more damage than he should. He shows up, does the slow/poison piercing line thing, the nova thing, and suddenly nothing I do will get me out alive. So he can just rove around the map and kill things at will, apparently.

Yet I don't see any "Slither is overpowered" threads. And I checked. What gives? Venomancer certainly didn't do this much damage, and Venomancer was a popular DotA hero.

Venomancer did exactly that much damage. There have been no changes.

The healing well heals proportional to your max HP, and Poison Nova does flat damage per tick, so your first comment isn't really a meaningful comparison.

really? Ive NEVER Been in a game where the new VENO was ANY good at all.. I find myself Eating his ult quite often even as an agi hero and laughing when I do it... i dont know why but its just not scary anymore but I havent actually played him yet.

He's a very strong early game hero who doesn't scale well. His stat growth is marginal, all of his abilities are weak late in the game, and he has a hard time farming enough to be a carry. He's built to wreck midgame.

Just because someone dominates with (insert hero here), does not mean they're overpowered.

Try getting an Astrolabe.

His stats and increases are HORRIBLE. Hes squishy and BARELY has enough mana to pull of a spray/nova combo. (Like at level 1-16 he usually has 30-50 more mana then he needs to do a combo).

+ Thats a fact. I might add BKB or Manta Style also rapes slither in mid / lategame. If your a agility and facing slither u need to that route or just wait until he has thrown his ult away before you engage in teamfight. This is true for most intelligence heroes. U can escape it if ur fast enough.

Manta after his ulti dispels it, and BKB protects vs it.

Slither is good early in the game but as other heroes level up and get better items, that 50 dmg/second starts to look like nothing =\

maybe you're playing games that are too short

Yep like others said, he scales terribly. I was able to get some kills (thanks to dots) early on in a game, but after a while his abilities are just nothing.

Ok idk if you know this but his ulti cant kill you, if he has other dots on you yes, when the ulti gets u to 1% they will kill you. But the ulti itself is non lethal says so in the tooltip.

he's fine, as someone said, teleport > slither.

his ulti can't kill, so its not that dangerous, and lategame he needs good gear to actually do a ****.

Proof? So, because a single person in-game told you he's imba, he definitely must be?
Heroes are weak against some things and strong against others. There are many heroes with magic immunity or the ability to strip debuffs, or to heal. Slither's got massive DoT's, sure, but think about this: all his spells have numeric damage (as do most other spellcaster heroes' abilities), meaning that he just gets consistently weaker as the game progresses. Slither is forced to counter this by trying to dominate in the early game to get lots of gold.
He's good early game, quite useless end game, provided you don't let him kill you.

op the next time some enemy picks slither pick arachna and rape his ass. your shield dispells his dots :D

and no he aint op >.< played him just now, failed at early game ownage and needed to farm quit hardcore to even do any dmg to enemies ^^
