Firstly I'm not sure if this should be in the balance section but I'm posting it here given that probably tactics could fix my problem.

I've been having marked success with SwiftBlade lately but if the game drags on past my opponents LVL 20 mark he has an increasingly hard time making an impact.

I understand that Swiftblade is a early-mid game carry hero but even when I own the match early, once i'm 20-25 level there's little I can do to similar level heroes. It gets worse once I hit level 25, if the game drags on and their team catches up he's just a run of the mill character if not weak.

His bladespin does less damage than his standard attack while not giving the vital benefits of lifesteal leaving him very vulnerable to physical attack. Although it does provide magic immunity which makes it an escape move of sorts. His Ulti (Omnilash) loses most of it's potency, while still doing well against some intelligence heroes (if their stupid enough to be caught alone) most it wont even dent.

How can I make Swift Blade a more effective late game carry?

swiftblade is the best late game carry
and his ulti is VERY useful the whole game

bladespin is only for early / mid or escape

I'd argue the "best" point but I'd argue that in all but a VERY few and specific cases where a Hero has an ability that is 100% unique (Thor and Pyromancer both come to mind).

I've come up against late game Swift Blade and I'd advise you to simple change your tactics and to try and built items that will hold not just in the mid-game but into late and end-game.

As you said Blade Spin is worthless damage at that point so don't use it for damage. Magic Immune like that is a powerful skill and it WILL save your hide if you use it right. Also don't dump your Ult if you think a better opportunity is coming up. If a guy is almost dead and fleeing then use it to catch him or if a guy is almost dead and his friend isn't then wait till the first one is dead before turning on the mincing machine. It's hard to beat the early game dominance of that magic immune when so much damage comes from magic. Later you have to rely more on strait up smacking people in the face which is what your item build should head towards.

As for best late game carry I'd say Zephyr is better because his percentage based ultimate and evasion moves have more of an impact and if he's gotten to late game then he's got at least one more good item than everyone else.

mm i dont agree his ulti is not that strong at late game, he cant use it in teamclash until fight is already won
he is not really tailored for late game, when i play swiftblade i have trouble dealing more damage than the other late game carry :/

but maybe im bad

i played swiftblade twice in HoN (its too easy to win with him) and when i use ulti 2-3 heroes were dead

Definately not the best late-game carry at all.
Blade spin should only be used to TP out late game.
Ulti's damage get increased the more items you have so it should scale.

Swiftblade's skills scale really well. This is of course with the exception of blade fury which completely dominates early to mid game.

All he needs, like any carry hero, is a decent farm/items.
i wish he still had imba ward, but his counterattack allows him to 1v1 other late game melee heroes very well.
