Staff of Shattering Glass (Level 1/2/3)

+16/19/22 Intelligence
+8/10/12 Cast Speed

Whenever this hero casts a spell, there is a 15/20/25% chance to restore the caster's mana by 15% of their maximum mana.

Shatter, Active Ability, 5/4/3 second cool down
-4 Magic Armor to enemy heroes with a 500 AoE when casted for 10 seconds, stacks for a maximum of 2/3/4 times. Maximum of 8 charges. This ability has a .5 second channel.

Just another idea for a Icebrand/Firebrand Intelligence version. The idea was to include some kind of 'universal' intellect item, as the strength and agility heroes have with Firebrand and Icebrand. Some of the intellect heroes can get those items, but not many. This item would apply to a few Strength and Agility, but not many by any means. I just thought, well you know what, there is not all that many upgradable items, nor is there many items with charges. So I bounced the idea around more and came up with this. I think it is a nice combination of several different that are unique to HoN and I wanted to respect that, by adding an item that is not only for Intellect heroes, but can be used by any hero with magic damage.

Of course, I could see this item being abused as it stands, but thats what balance and debate are for. To verify if there are any abusable traits and by what heroes. I also added a channel time to the active ability, so there could be room to deny the additional -4 Magic Armor, which in my mind, could be devastating in some cases. The reason for the limit of stacks and cool down of the ability, plus the charges, is to prevent this item from just being carried by multiple heroes and watching a hero like Pyromancer decimate everything in sight.

unique, reminds me of essence aura.

I know some of you hate dota, and its terms, but essence aura is from a hero called obsidian destroyer, it restores mana based on spells casted by him, and by the heroes around him.

So T-UP!!

That was where the idea originated and I could see this being used just as much as the other two, just instead of Strength and Agility heroes, Intellect heroes now have a general item, instead of it just being Sheepstick, which seems to be the only item that all Intellect Heroes generally get.

I feel this item may need some sort of debuff or become upgradable, so the Casting Time increases (starts lower) and the restore rate, increases as well.

Maybe make another item with charges as well. ...Actually, you know what, those last two sound appealing. I will be editing the post to have two different versions or maybe even make a whole new topic for it.

Wouldn't the item need Neophyte's Book and the agility +6 stats (sorry for i dont really know the name, it the agility version of apprentice robes). Since your item is giving u attack speed and intel. just a thought.
and is it saying that the hero will have -4 magic armor for every charge? You might want to debuff it some. thats a possible -32 armor for magic. add a hero with harkon blade. and any magic damage will greatly kill a hero. i think it should be -1 for each charge, then -2 and -3 as u upgrade it since it is a relatively cheap item that will be easy to get early game.

However, i do see this item being a great item, and used by a lot.

Sorry for any miss spelling and such.

Lose the Shatter effect or the Essence Aura part, and nerf the Shatter effect (just make it non-stackable, that should do it).
In total with both abilities you gain too much just for the recipe imo.

Get rid of shatter effect. It is basically a cheaper Harkons Blade. Too powerful in my opinion.
