View Full Version : [Bug?] Swiftblade abilities in ice imprisonment

I just played a game as Glacius (and won, yay!). I did notice that when I used ice imprisonment on the opposing teams' Swiftblade, it wouldn't necessarily stop him. Several times when under the effects of ice imprisonment, he would use omnislash, and while still an ice block, move rapidly around the field dealing damage. Another time or two, he used whirlwind while in the ice imprisonment; he did not seem to move in this case, but was still dealing damage.
I understand that ice imprisonment it is not quite a stun per se, but it seems strange to me that Swiftblade can move rapidly about the field while incased in a big arse block of ice. I don't like it!
Any other thoughts on the matter?

It doesn't silence. He can't move around except with his ult and even then it does reduced damage.
On the bright side, he can't Blade Frenzy out of Ice Imprisonment.

Its not so much as Blade Frenzy should cancel Imprisonment as it is Imprisonment should silence.

It should, but it doesn't. Personally I think it's great.

It didn't silence in DotA though. You could always blink strike and stuff out of it, though you'd still be a block of ice afterwards.

No, Nome, Blade Frenzy shouldn't take them off, since it explicitly says doesn't cleanse debuffs; It only makes him immune. So Ice Imprisonment and Roots shouldn't be taken off, if they're already on him when he Frenzies.
Imprisonment, as it was in DotA, is NOT a stun. It merely immobilizes the player, and (I'm not sure on this one) disables autoattacks. It seems as though some people believe it just stuns them, and they don't even try. You can cast spells while imprisoned, and you can even use orb skills, such as Arachna's.
This same sort of logic applies to other such disable skills as Pugna's decrepify in DotA. I was once called a hacker because I orb walked a Pugna to death as Huskar, while banished.

I do understand that it does not stun or silence, but to move about the field rapidly while being encased in a block of ice seems a bit much to me. It is supposed to immobilize, no? It seems a little unfair that those with movement related abilities can cancel out the immobilize, while those who don't can't move at all.
Frankly, those heroes with blinks/leaps/etc already have a good escape mechanism in general; I'm not sure why we need Glacius to get screwed even harder by these heroes who can already get out of his ult instantaneously.
