2. Hero Introduction

STORY:

Ydnak is a mercenary, that uses Divine powers to increase his allies powers. However, Ydnak wont work, unless you pay him well. He is greedy for gold, but is a trustable person, if he gets paid well.Allright, the game doesnt have too many INT melees, and well, support heroes are allways fun, right?


Why INT Melee? They are fun.

Then the skills:

Name: Ydnak, The Warpriest
Role: Support / Buff / Ganker


1st. Skill = Divine Might http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/e/e0/Auspicious_Blow.jpg

Ydnak buffs all the allied heros around him, in 600 AoE radius. The buff gives them ... attack damage, which increases every
time the allied hero attacks. The buff lasts 15 seconds, or until the damage cap has been capped. (10 attacks)

CD: 25
Mana Cost: 70/80/90/100

1. +5 - +2 per attack
2. +10 - +4 per attack
3. +20 - +6 per attack
4. +40 - +8 per attackSo, the damage caps after 10 attacks, and then resets / disappears. The damage cap is:

1= 5+20=25
2=10+40=50
3=20+60=80
4=40+80=120

However, as you know, the attack speeds arent that great on early levels, so the damage cap will be capped just in few cases.


2nd. Skill = Unrivalled Speed http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/f/fb/Rush.jpg

Ydnak buffs one allied hero, giving him either by maximum movement speed or maximum attack speed (300%?) for 2/3/4/5 seconds.
Togglable between AS & MS buff.

CD: 10
Mana Cost: 50/60/80/90

1. 2 seconds (... or until 5 attacks are done)
2. 3 seconds (... or until 5 attacks are done)
3. 4 seconds (... or until 5 attacks are done)
4. 5 seconds (... or until 5 attacks are done)This skill will be toggleable between AS & MS. So, it works like Dark Seer's haste boost, or just like some random max. AS (300%?). All the movement slows & attack slows while having this buff will be reduced by 50%.

Had to balance it a bit, as 300% AS for 5 seconds would be quite deadly.

Ydnak buffs himself or debuffs an enemy hero, causing the enemy to slow down & get ministunned every 1 second
repeatedly for 5 seconds.
Buff gives Ydnak a chance (25%) to stun enemy for 1 second. Buff lasts 10 seconds, the debuff takes 2 seconds to activate.

CD: 30/25/20/15
Mana Cost: 100/120/140/160

1. Lasts 5 / 10 seconds, 10% chance to bash. Ministun damage 20, 15, 10, 5 - 50 total damage.
2. Lasts 5 / 10 seconds, 15% chance to bash. Ministun damage 40, 30, 20, 10 - 100 total damage.
3. Lasts 5 / 10 seconds, 20% chance to bash. Ministun damage 60, 50, 40, 30 - 180 total damage.
4. Lasts 5 / 10 seconds, 25% chance to bash. Ministun damage 80, 70, 60, 50 - 260 total damage.So, this gives Ydnak a chance to bash enemy, giving Ydnak more power when fighting as a melee hero, or you can debuff the enemy hero & making him get ministun (like Pharaoh's) every 1 seconds. Good for ganking, and good for one on one.



ULTIMATE

Ydnak creates a golden link between two (2) enemies, which stuns the enemies, and damages them IF an allied hero walks through the link.

Level 1: Lasts 3 seconds, does 100 damage to enemies for each allied unit running through the link. Also, heals the allied units who run through the link for 200.
Level 2: Lasts 4 seconds, does 150 damage to enemies for each allied unit running through the link. Also, heals the allied units who run through the link for 300.
Level 3: Lasts 5 seconds, does 200 damage to enemies for each allied unit running through the link. Also, heals the allied units who run through the link for 400.
Level 1, maximum damage 500 to enemies.
Level 2, maximum damage 750 to enemies.
Level 3, maximum damage 1000 to enemies.
Damage type: Magic

HERO & ITEM SYNERGY (!?)

Heroes

Good allies:
ALL KINDS OF PHYSICAL DPS-ERS
Good examples: :chro::pest::mage::nigh::pred::madm: (maximum AS makes these guise happy!)
Q: But how?
A: He is a support hero, hard to understand?!

Enemies, that will eat you:
:pand::poll::succ::mage::chro: + all kinds of chain disablers.
(Manaburn hurts too!)

A: Ydnak is a support hero, but doesnt have too many heals & he has very low armor.

These are just examples, you can use practically any item on Ydnak, as he is capable of fighting himself aswell.

Why e.g. Astroblade & Restoration Stone?
- Ydnak doesnt have too many heals, Astroblade fixes that problem and it is a great early item! Restoration Stone gives you more heals (if your team needs it), and the enemies will cry because of 2x Divine Links!

Why the DPS items (Hellflower, Runed Axe)

you can use practically any item on Ydnak, as he is capable of fighting himself aswell.

I'd say it's OK.

Ultimate suggestion (with an icon!):

With the power of Sol, Ydnak summons a breeze of power to empower
allies and harm enemies. The MS buff lasts for 0/4/6 seconds.

CD: 120/160/160
Mana Cost: 180/250/375

[1] Summons a breeze of power to heal allies for 220 hp and deal 190 Magic damage
to enemies in the AoE of 1000.
[2] Summons a breeze of power to heal allies for 380 hp and give +5% Movement
speed. Deals 235 Magic damage and slows enemies in the AoE of 1125 for -5% MS.
[3] Summons a breeze of power to heal allies for 510 hp and give +10% Movement
Speed. Deals 280 Magic damage and slows enemies in the AoE of 1250 for -10% MS.

Any comments? =)

Ofcourse its awesome. Its a wnb dwarf, but theres no dwarves in Newerth, so it must be a human cosplaying a dwarf.

Maybe 2 buff could give a hero attack speed according to his movement speed.

Pretty cool idea really. HoN doesn't have any heroes that are full on just buffs. You should also make sure that people pronounce his name right (from the spelling it's probably pronounced something like eed-nawk).

On to some tweaks I'd suggest: His second skill instead of being toggled between 2 different abilities could simply be 2 separate spells, similar to soul stealer's second ability (something grasp i think it is). To avoid having it be imba, just make it so if a player has 1 of the buffs the other is dispelled and the CD on it is reset on cast.

The idea for his ult is pretty cool though there are a few things you should probably set.

1.) distance between the heroes. Perhaps if they get too far away from each other they automatically take the maximum damage the ult can do.

2.) the heal values on it are a bit high. You pretty much have to assume that if he uses his ult your allies are going to take advantage of it so 200 health AND 100 damage to each of the enemies is probably high. I may be wrong here, but that's my take on it. Also, can 1 player activate it multiple times? or does it apply a debuff to the players who use it so they don't trigger it again?
One more thing on the ult, remember that although his rank 1 has a MAXIMUM of 500 damage to a single target, it's still done to 2 enemies! that means it's actual max damage at RANK 1 is 1k. Awfully high for a rank 1 ult. At least that's the way the wording makes it sound anyway.

Overall pretty cool, but it does require some tweaks i think.

Edit: It should also probably be noted that those buffs could have some nasty side effects on heroes like rampage, chronos, magebane, anyone with a proc (or in rampage's case he get's increased damage with increased movement speed.)

First of all, when you ulti the enemies, they will get stunned, so they cant move, dont know was this what you meant, but thats how I understood it. How to cast it then? Was thinking of a small AoE circle and then it just chooses 2 of them randomly.

Heals too high? 200, 300, 400... Jeraziah can heal 360 at level 7, which is aswell a pure damage... This is ultimate, the numbers (on the damage mostly) have to be a bit higher. The heal also is done just once, so you cant run through it 5 times and get healed for 2000 hp.

Third, about the toggleable skill. Wouldnt it be too imba if you could buff one of the heros with 522 MS, and the other one with full AS? Thats what I thought when creating this skill, thats why its toggleable between AS/MS.

^This is what Ive been thinking aswell, but dont really have the answer how to balance that skill. At least not yet...

Sounds quite impossible to even imagine. Or not. I can actually imagine chronos just holding his mallet over his head while the enemy just dies. :DD

But i don't think that's what he means. :D

+300% was the maximum AS bonus from buffs (?), or atleast thats what I thought. Will change it later to 5 attacks OR the maximum time... just like scouts, or something.
