View Full Version : Predator's new Ult! Like or Dislike?

Personally I hate it. But I also suck really bad at this game..

What do you guys think?

With the old Ult, I could turn it on along with stonehide at a tower to push the crap out of it. I could also benefit from letting creeps hit me before my own creeps show up to the fight.

The new ult.. Well I cant even figure out how to utilize it. I tested in the middle of a group fight, didn't notice any significant difference in anything. Used it on a group of 5-6 creeps at level 10.. Almost died :o.

SO! Lets discuss!

It's not really a creep/pushing skill, but a skirmish ability. I think it's way more useful than the old one. Makes Predator a bit better team player.

So whats a good stradegy for using it? Just follow the group and use during the fight?

Before I could target myself or an ally with it.. Now it's like random chance someone steps into the invisible AOE, and even more random chance everyone hits the right person?

I'm going off the patch notes here, but what it is now is a moderately large (450 units- about 50% more than Runed Axe's old cleave range, or about half of a Magebane blink) AE that you cast on the enemy's. It lowers their armor by a pretty hefty amount, which will increase the physical damage you do, and if anyone (including you and your teammates) attacks that enemy you start hitting faster and moving faster.

It's pretty simple to use once you know what it does. After you jump into a group of enemies, hit it. They'll start getting wrecked when other people hit them.

Meh it's better then his last ult. That one was rather unpractical.

I've been hearing that alot, but honestly his old Ult, and his venom leap was the reason I liked him so much..

lifesteal skill, combined with lifesteal items, and an ultimate that makes you hit harder,faster, with increased movement speed anytime you take damage. Perfect tank destroyer I thought..

I like it, better during team fights, but the cooldown seems way too long.

it seems better now, but the change i really liked was the fixed 40% slow on his leap, that was a major buff.

His new ultimate is amazing. Its so much better than that last piece of crap he had that was only useful for farming neutrals.

I would probably try to initiate the assault with his new ultimate, that along with whatever other things you could do to your opponents (Night Hound's Cloud)

His new ult is amazing. Just leap in the middle of the enemy team, hit immune then ult. Basically gives your entire team blood lust... =X

Costs 300 mana and has a 150 second cooldown. It's a good skill but holy christ the mana cost and cooldown make it comically bad on him.

They have no idea what to do with Predator so they add half baked abilities. It needs to be locked at 100 mana cost and go to 120/60/30 second cd.

I second the absurdly long cooldown on the new ultimate. His previous ultimate certainly made kamikaze missions fun though.

I think it needs a bit of a buff too. For its mana and cool down. Fairly difficult to use his level 3 ultimate \=

I LOVE the new Ult. It really fits in with him much more then his previous one. I realize that it essentially is a buffed version of his origional ult, but the +move speed works great.

He is definetly a viable carry and ganker now.

It desperately needs an AOE increase and cooldown decrease per level.
As for the effect itself, I'm quite fond of it... can really turn a team battle around if you leap in a second or two after the fighting erupts.

personally the cooldown is ridiculous, same goes for the mana cost. While it is amazing in team fights(-12 armor, 70% IAS, 15% IMS for anyone that attacks enemies affected by it) and due to the kind of small aoe it has me trying to find the perfect time to use it in a teamfight rather than just casting it. This is becuase I'm trying to maximize the number of enemy heroes I hit.

While this new ult is a vast improvement over his old one, the cooldown and mana cost make it unpractical for him.

I think if you reduce the amount of armor it reduces and then decrease both cooldown and mana cost per level it would be far more effective.

Just a suggestion for a reworked version of his ult:

* Applies Terror to enemy heroes for 20 seconds in a 500 radius around self
Terror Effects
* -4/6/8 armor
* When attacked, applies Enraged to attacker
Enraged Effects
* +40/60/80% attack speed
* +10/15/20% movement speed

Mana Cost: 100/175/225
Cooldown: 120/60/30

Any thoughts?

cooldown's a bit long but its a great ult when combined with some heavy hitting DPS

It's ok, but the cast time is kinda meh.. You're frozen for a good 1-2 seconds just pulling it off.

And oh man, while were talking about the Predator, his animation sucks so bad.. The damage effect doesn't connect to his attack swing, it's kind of offsetting.

A lot of heroes have crappy animations, especially the melee heroes.

You realise his new ultimate now makes you hit Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger & it effects everyone else hitting those targets?

Definetly mana cost/cooldown buff needed.

The effects are pretty nice and useful. Finally I managed to be a carry with him \o/

Mana cost is on-par with other AoE ultimates that can turn team fights.

Cooldown is pretty long, but my main gripe is the stupid animation when it's activated. Remove the animation but keep the growl so it's evident.
