Planeshifter


So this is my first hero.

Vote for the Concept pls not for the Numbers. Let me know Ideas for changing.
I am not a native Speaker in english so please forgive me mistakes :).

The Idea to this Hero comes from an anti-invi hero but now its changed to an interessting Hero Concept against all kind of Heroes. (But he can rape invis a little bit easier ;D)

I will add some details soon and just ask if you have questions. For sure items follow soon. If you dont accept the numbers filled in pls note it and let me know exactly what you think have to be changed.

Explanation:

This hero is based on a totally new Concept and a new Way to think about invisiblity.
Heroes that go invis dont just hide themselfs, they switch to an other Plane of the World. This "Ghostplane" cant be seen from the elemental, the "normal" Plane, but you can spectate the elemental Plane from Ghostsphere.

On this ground you can understand this Hero much better i think. Switching to the other Sphere always means that any Hero on the elemental Plane will be switched to the Ghostsphere and every invisible Hero (like Nighthound or any Hero with Assasins Shroud or Invis Rune) will be switched to elemental Plane.

Hero-Notes:

Some important Facts about the Planeshifter:

- He is an melee ranged Agi Hero and has a good but not one of the highest Agility gains. (2.5 or something like this).

- He is a bit fragile so he has a weak Strenght gain. (like 1.5, only Numbers ;) )

- He needs a good Mana-pool to spam his Abilitys and stay invis so a good int gain is important. (like 2, he should not get all mana he needs from stats automatically)

- He gets a normal starting Amor (like 3 or 4).

- His stats at begin will be like the stats on Scout or so.

- He will be a good moving Hero (full of Agility ;) Movement Speed like 305).

- Starting Amount of Damage wont be really high, he is based on spelling most of the game (dmg like 45-55)



Ability-Notes:

Here i want to note some of the important Facts about the Abilitys themself.

Sphereshifting Aura:

His first Skill is a passive Aura that have big potential and is the only damage-source (and hitting, he is an agility Hero, but read, he will not be a hit and run char ^^)

- Everyone in 1000 Range to the Planeshifter gets 1 Charge per Second

- This Charges are NOT visible for the enemy Heroes.

- The heroes that go outside the AoE lose 1 Charge per Second

- The Damage only triggers when the visible Hero turns invisible or an invisible Hero turns visible.

- Math: Damage-Limit of 40% of max Hp. 5% per second, that means it takes 8 seconds to reach full damage. Its magic Damage so the limit of 40% is reduced by normally 25% (5.5 magic Amor) = ~30%. This means at 1000 hp (early game) it deals 400 dmg so 300 hp lose (AT FULL POTENIAL AND TRIGGER). Its not so easy to bring this Ability to full Potential, but there for it scales good.


Planerift:

The Ability switches the Plane of everyone inside 2 times. Friends lose one negative Effect, Enemys get slowed by 50% for 4 seconds.

The backchange takes 0.5 seconds. In this Time every invisble Unit got visible and every visible Unit turns invisible.

This also means, that targeting a Unit will be canceled and you can lokate the invisible Nighthound or Wards for a half a second.


Planeshifting:

This Skill is a bit simiular to scouts one, but has a positive and a negative Effect:

- You are invis :D

- You can see all other invis Heroes.

- You can attack and cast at the invis Heroes!

- You can be seen by each invisible Hero!


I think this skill is balanced like it is now, but if you think i can increase the manacost a bit.


Melting Reality (ulti)

-It is a low cooldown- Ulti.

- It is a good disable, but the Target can move and cant be seen by Enemys without Eye. A funny and great Effect is, that it cant be seen by his friendly Units :D.

- It can help your team mates to gank or escape, you get another support-skill with it.

- In the right combo it is really mighty.


Synergie:

The Planeshifter is build with many nice Synergies to allow Players with a good Handling of it to do really great Combos. I explain some Synergies here.


Planeshifting Aura + Planerift (1. + 2.)

The most popular Combination of Abilitys is using the Planerift to trigger the damage of your Aura. As you see it has exactly the Cooldown that you need to max out the Damage of your Aura. To balance it i have filled in a small radius. It can be changed if it is too hard to hit with it.


Sphereshifting Aura + Planeshifting (1. + 3.)

To open a fight its really helpfull to walk into your Enemys and fill them up with Charges to reach the max dmg at beginning. But be aware of Eyes, Wards and also other invisible Heroes.
This is really powerfull, because the Charges are invis too, but dont forget you have to trigger the damage, which not succed every time for the whole team!


Sphereshifting Aura + Planeshifting + Planerift + Melting Reality (all)

This is your ultimative Combo.

You charge up the Debuff on your Enemy team in invisible. Then you initiate a great Clash with your Planerift and deal a good amount of damage (with a bit luck and skill ) you wait some seconds (3 secs maybe) and take out the most dangerous Carry or Disabler of your Enemys. Now you can turn invi and hit on the slowed and disarmed Target. You and your Enemy cant be seen by both sides. While the Clash is going on without you and your Victim, you can deal good damage to him. After the 5 seconds (at max level of ulti) your Target is free and gets another damage burst of 5 secs (25% - Magic Amor) from your Aura. Now you can follow him and help your team with a second Planerift.

This Combo is really fantastic, hard to manage and can turn teamclashes.

I dont think its imbalanced, but it reaches a great Potential for a good Player.



PS: I have made a whole Concept for an Add on Package for HoN including new Maps and some really good Heroes and a good story to bring it in. If you are interressted in my work pls look up my Suggestions the next time. ( I started to work on the Design last days and this graphics takes some times ;D, but more will follow)

thanks, pls vote if you like the concept :D. Glaedr223, can you pls comment where and how you think i should tweak him? so i do some math before with the numbers and the damage isnt that hard... maybe the invis could be more expensive ... pls comment what you think :).

Yeah you are right. But thats not the only way. it is triggering always some one switch between invis and visible. so its a nice ability against invis also as it has a great synergie to ulti. the ulti has 2 changes one at begin (you can time it to reach full dmg potential) and a second after 5 secs (only 25% - magic amor )

Another neutral hero! Look at mine, in my sig :] Similar concept but different mechanics entirely.

I like him. One quick question; can the rest of your team attack the invisible enemies? Can he be attacked by the other enemy heroes besides Night Hound?

you mean the ulti target? The ulti target is invisible for all heroes, so for his allys and your allys. But if a friend of him has an eye the whole team can see him and if your side have an eye (expect of you) your team can see him. So if the team has truesight of him they can attack / support him with spells. understand? or another question?

umm, and if the enemie team picks nh + scout + him + glacious + keeper of the forest = lolwut????

No more than 2 permainvisi units. although concpect is good i still give thumbs down, for the sake of all thats good.

so you think it would just bring down the balance in hon? i think it would just be a good counterpick for nh and scout ... the "problem" or call it "balance" is, that this chars wouldnt get dmg if they stay invi ... they just have to go outside the aura and 8 secs later the charges are gone! they just get dmg if they deside to attack from invis or stay to long scouting ... but i think its not a balance breaker just a antipick, and every hero should have some. in my opinion there should be ways to counter invi heroes effective and not just warding.

to your teambalance... it is one hero.... the team you mention wouldnt work pretty well, it has 3 agi carrys one caster and an invi tank. Certainly the glacius would get raped in like 2 secs (at a good initiation) next point is that the planeshifter cant fit his role as anti invi which is definitly a disadvantage for him and his strenght.

next point is that this team is hard to pick, if nh and scout is picked the enemy team would clearly pick counterheroes like planeshifter.

last point is that this combo is possible yet. think of madman. nh and scout could scout the enemy and the madman can turn invi this like that you wont see him coming. There are other invis so i think it wouldnt make the invis better, it would balance them down a bit.

Don't like really, the forced synergy is just ugh. His first ability does literally nothing without the others, and the other skills are just meh.

thats wrong .. .the first skill is a purge with a little aoe effect and it makes invisible heroes in range visible ... thats nothing for you? pls first think about it ...

i actually think its pretty good.
it will stop people 'auto-picking' nh or scout, which you see in most games.
i dont think he is imba.
creative, will cause some discussion if he cames out, but nothing op.

i think you are right ... this is the reason why there are some people who dont like him ... he is a counter invi hero and the first counter pick (expect of pesti) against them. Yeah there will be much trouble ^^

I think the phase shift concept is really unique and deserves being explored however I think you should detail the spell mechanics a little more... That said despite how cool the picture is I think I'd prefer the spells typed... In addition I don't feel like an invis detector is currently required by this game so I'd be inclined to change those mechanics as I feel like unless you take this hero last pick he will lose purpose from no invis picks

next point: you said he should NOT be an invis detector and you think he is not strong enoguh against no-invi- Heroes right?

so first the thing the most people in this thread dont like at him is the fact that he is another invi hero too (i really understand it and think of changing it), a point the most people likes is the fact that he can counter invis really good and is a good team play hero at the same time... he doesnt needs an invis hero in opposite team


so what i am really interessted in are your thoughts how to change him to use the system i created really amazing

First skill, if I am reading this correctly then it only affects heroes that can go invisible. Such are:
Night Hound
Scout
Valkyrie
Madman
Keeper of the Forest
Magmus
This adds up to 6/60 or 10% of the current heroes in HoN. Now if you consider it this way, you have a spell that only counters 10% of the heroes in HoN and does nothing else save for people who get Assassins Shroud. Seems kind of useless and would lead to people picking this hero only to counter invisible heroes.

Second skill, good concept, fits well. Forces synergy from first spell.

Third skill, the difference between this skill and the first is that it has a use other than to counter the 10% of invisible heroes. You can use this as an escape, though the mana per second upkeep should scale with the level, and other effects, say sight radius of seeing invisible heroes should scale as well because as you have written it, level 1 is the exact same as level 4.

Ultimate, very good idea, but again forces synergy from first spell.

It is a decent attempt, I think it could have been played out a little differently, but as is I will T-Up.

so you are right, the hero is built on the first ability and in use with other ones it is really mighty and inflicting ALL heros. so in this way i tried to built a nice synergie-hero and not one with pwing solo abilitys. but you are right and i will think about this ... you have an idea?

thanks for the hint for third ability, i am going to change it.

you are right the big potential is opened with the aura but i think a disable, a hiding of any player (his team cant see him) and a nice chase-ability with such a cooldown is really nice for ulti ... if you have great ideas post it :D

Perhaps add an effect for when he switch from invisible to visible and vice versa, say a quick AoE silence around his area to his aura. That way it is a good counter for invisible heroes and can have an affect otherwise?

nice original idea. What would the cloak plane look like? Could set all the colors on the screen to their negatives. Any cloaked unit will keep it's positive colors. Just a thought. And I voted yes of course.

The problem I have with this hero is that his passive doesn't do anything by itself. Which is something I really, really dislike, and I don't really see something like this being added into the game tbh.
Even Soulstealers second ability does more than just increase a counter. I also dislike the second skill.
Personally I'd like to see the two planes to be impersonated as one being physical and one being magical. While in either plane magic/physical attacks affect the hero more/less depending which plane he is in.

Though that probably is just me.
