View Full Version : CD Pro Suggestion!!!!
When 1.30 released on skills we can see cooldown in sec. plz delete this change because in dota you need to memorize skill time!!!It's big proffesional players sense but now any player can use without training "time sense" it's big mistake S2!!!!Doing like some animation or other but not timer!!!I think many pro players think same!

And what, prey tell, prevents you from still learning your skill time with cooldowns on the icons?
Nothing.

Uh....this is stupid. Why would you take off the CD timer? Memorize skill time? In dota your skill will look ready but not and when you are trying to use it and it doesnt work your like WTF MAN. So the timer is a good thing. At least put in some logical thoughts. At least with the CD timer you can always tell when your skill is up.
AND NO YOU DONT HAVE TO MEMORIZE CD TIME YOU ONLY NEED TO LOOK AT THE CD CIRCLE ON THE SKILL.....if you needed to memorize skill cd time then there wouldn't be a cd circle showing that your skill isn't ready
Dota have animation when skill is ready

The key word being based. If someone releases a new racing game, it doesn't need a be a carbon copy of the last racing game out there.
If are so anal about things like cooldowns showing on moves, then you'll never be able to deal with the new maps and heroes hon uses. So I say again, sounds like you need to be playing dota.

Memorizing skill cooldowns/durations is a tiny, inconsequential, unchallenging, unfun hurdle to learning the game. Having cooldown/duration countdown does not in any way hurt HoN's potential as a cybersport game.

There were Cooldown timers in Dota as well, you just had to modify your Icons a little bit :)

Lawl. No they're not.
Anyway, I dont see how it hurts you to have CD timers. I also dont see how it changes anything. Before this patch you had a clockwipe action thing telling you how far your skill were on its CD. Now there is a timer too. Big deal.

Ey you pro, learn your cooldown times by hard and earn yourself a BADASS advantage to those people who are limited to watch the cd-timer.

Cooldown timers are just plain great and make it far easier to coordinate attacks. When an ulti has a 300 sec cooldown you have to estimate it like, ulti in 40 secs or so. Now if you can say, ulti in 35 secs exactly that is just good. It is simply better.
Just like the commando's when they time their watches to plan their action to the second. You don't hear them saying "I don't need a watch, I can memorize the actions through sheer experience. I know the cooldown of all my actions by heart". :p

^ this. let's just blank out the whole UI while we're at it. Pros don't need to look at bars or maps or shop buttons. They instinctively know that the enemy is just off the edge of their screen despite having no visual indication.

Cooldown timer is a good idea imo... In the heat of the battle u dont watch your timers using hotkeys and being aware of your mp and cooldowns is what its all about.
Another great thing is gang and trap planing cause u can exactly say when ull have for instance your ult and in dota its more eta.
Just this morning i played a game and got "Guinsoo's scyte of vise" dont know how its called here >.< and thought about threading a Cooldown timer for active items.

HoN and Dota are basically the same thing, most of the differences are on the graphical aspects so shut it.
OT, you can have cooldowns on your icons with rotating colors in Dota, so I don't see the issue.
