Not just clicking is an action. Using hotkeys is also taken into account.

I don't think you can use hotkeys for that, but there's a mod somewhere in the Modifications-section that allows you to automatically level abilities on leveling up.

normal creep waves spawn every 30 seconds, starting at 0:00.
That's why every pull spot can be pulled at two times in a minute, congruent mod 30. eg medium camp pull to safe lane (hb top, leg bottom) at x:15 or x:45.

I never bothered with Chen in dota but I've played Ophelia a few times in HoN and it's pretty satisfying to micro the creeps effectively and lead your team to an early victory.

I don't feel like my PC is "bad" yet I seem to have low FPS in game when things start to pick up.

Around 30 FPS is normal when things are going on, and the later game big team fights its like 10-18 FPS...

Specs:

OS: Windows 7
Ram: 4g (DDR2 800mhz)
Graphics Card: Asus Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 512mb
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU 3.20 GHz

Problem - No matter what I set the graphics at or if I have mods on or off the FPS is always the same... If I have it all on HIGH with all the graphic enhancements checked it still stays at 30, if I have them all on low and unchecked its still the same.

Its quite upsetting that I can't get at least a steady 50 FPS...

I'm willing to work with anyone who's willing to talk to me, I'd like to figure this out (vent preferably).

Use the bear to tank the creeps.
Put a hatchet and iron shield on him to help for that.
Pull the lane whenever you can.


For ganking, I generally control both of them and right click the guy you want to gank. If you get an Entangle, try to move your hero a bit closer to the enemy so you can continue the chase.

If you are GETTING ganked, run away and hope your bear autoattacks the enemy. Teleport him to you at choke points so he can sorta block the way for you.

that's all u need, in fact a BKB is as luxurious as a support should even go to
unless if ur a mass pusher, u will have a hard time farming but u only need ur skills cus otherwise u'd be a hero called a carry.

yes some heroes in this game just don't require that many items to farm up, mainly that of support heroes (glacius, ophelia, demented) as they can rely on their skills to do the job.

I usually find myself having greaves, port key, and a bracer for most of the game, if im lucky ill build something else maybe like a shamans' headress..or more mana regen.

My question is: why is the community so unfriendly?

I installed the game today. I first wanted to do some practise games to check out some champions, so I know at least one or two champs before jumping into a game. When I asked if there were bots for practise, I got insulted. When I joined a newbie game later and asked a question about the rankings I got kicked. When I asked something about damage items in the chat, I was told to press alt-f4. I was insulted during the champ selection, and in game. People insult each other ingame constantly anyway. The chat is horrible. People laugh about rape, incest, dildos and what else they consider to be funny, and any serious question gets you nonsense as reply, insults or is simply ignored.

I play multiplayer games since the time of MUDs (text based multiplayer RPGs) and the first impression of this game is that it has the worst community I ever found. Even the people in World of Warcraft were more mature. This is my first impression, maybe I'm wrong. I'm possibly not making friends by posting such as this, but that doesn't change the impression I got.

So my question is: Is the community really that horrible? Is it possible to have a game with random people without insults flying around? Are insults probably a part of the game and I'm just too old-fashioned to join the fray? Or did I just join the game on a bad day?

They join --> People flame them --> They get better --> They meet someone in their previous position --> They flame them

Insults are a part of the game, and you're likely to be too "old-fashioned". However, if you still want to play, there are plenty of ways for you to do so without getting flamed. For starters, look up the Training Grounds- they have two clans running (LN and HfH) which are somewhat exclusively for new players.

Try to find other people in your position and play with them.

Each point of strength gives you around 19 hp. I can't remember the exact value. Each point of Agility increases your armor and attack speed a tiny bit. Each point of Intellect gives you ~15 mana.

Every hero is either an agility, strength, or intelligence hero. Every hero gains 1 damage per 1 stat increase, respective of their "class"; ie. an agility hero gains 1 damage for every point of agility on any given item.

So like, say you have Pyromancer, Hammerstorm, Corrupted Disciple, and Demented Shaman. Your enemy has Pollywog Priest, Soulstealer, Electrician, Slither, and Torturer.

You know they're going for a push strat. You have Pyromancer / Hammerstorm on weak, Corrupted Disciple in mid, and absolutely nobody on your strong lane but a demented shaman. You already have a carry- Corrupted Disciple AND Hammerstorm, so picking another moneymaker isn't the best thing to do. Behemoth would be a perfect pick- It would give your team much needed stuns, counterpush, AoE rape, AND you don't need to farm all game.

Similarly, if you have a turtle lineup- Forsaken Archer Mid / DS Pesti strong / Valkyrie Behemoth (Look at dat 3 carries), behemoth would also be viable. If they try to push, your ult / stuns will be able to push them off until forsaken, pesti, and valk get rediculous.

Last I heard, map editor was not going to come until soon before or after release (possibly coinciding with the K2 SDK), but you would have to get a quote from an S2 employee to be sure (plans change, after all).

It will not be restricted to people who prepurchased. Prepurchasing gets you a gold shield + name, the ability to taunt in beta (taunts will probably be available to everyone at release, but don't quote me on that), and a smug, obnoxious aura of superiority.

Different view: if you have a nuke hero, get Post Haste boots a.s.a.p. It is usually my very first item on the Pyromancer (open with marchers + 2 manapots - then straight to Post Haste).

Why?

You get to pick low HP heroes across the map and nuke them to shreds by simply porting in on a nearby mob. So even if that dreaded Moon Queen or Madman switches lanes because you just hit lvl 6 and got your nuke, you port to their lane and one-shot them until they lag out on xp / gold.

you sure that in every game you get to have that luxurious farm to get a ph always? think about it. games arent filled with pro players for you. more filled with baddies than pros. dont shell out information which may mislead other people to thinking building ph is good for pyro. and not every game has a frail carry which you can nuke down in just 2 spells. think about it. everything`s situational in hon.

i personally play pyro as my 2nd fave and i dont get a problem with buying 2 homecoming stones for switching lane ganks or owning ghost marchers because fervor increases his aspd and movespeed decently even just at lvl 1 which can give way to my bottle, to :Glowstone: then onto :SacrificialStone: or switching it up to (if the carries or squishies are way too dumb to see it coming) a:Portalkey:.

Most likely something went wrong with the installation, if you're installing on vista, try installing again as administrator. If the error tells you you're missing some .dll file, you could dl that from the internet(at your own risk) and put it in your hon folder.

I'm assuming you mean like, Good heroes / bad heroes, but it's very situational and dependant on your lineup, because this is a team game.

However, I'll give you a list of heroes I'd, under no circumstance, use (Since there are better heroes in the pool and these heroes become somewhat useless, or if the other hero was in that situation they could do the same + a lot more)

Because pestilence and hammerstorm can output the same damage AND have an AoE stun for teamfights with the same items.

While Armadon is definitely tankier, he has much less lane presence, as well as less presence in team fights. His role is very niche- To snot storm spam escaping people to not let them get away from team fights. With hammerstorm and pestilence, they wouldn't even be able to get away in the first place.

Just going to comment on the shield breaker + charged hammer.

Shieldbreaker reduces the armor of opponents you attack. Charged hammer applies magic dmg to your dps, therefore not synergizing well with shieldbreaker. I can see that you'd want charged hammer for farming purposes, but I recommend you replace charged hammer with runed axe.

1. It depends on how long the game goes on. Kongor has a buff which gets stronger as time progresses, nothing to do with how many times he died.

You're confusing PSR with SMR. And don't play to improve any specific stats, play to win every match you join.

Basically using the standard build laid out in the Big Hero Guide.

I get to the point where my inventory looks like this:

Steam Boots
Power Supply
Bottle
Fortified Bracelet
Fortified Bracelet
Homecoming Stone

Now I want to start moving toward Staff of the Mastery. What's the order I buy Mighty Axe, Glowstone, and Neophyte's Book (I assume that order)?

And more importantly, what do I stash to make room for any 1 or all of those items?

I assume the bracelets but they're nice rounded items. Should I skip the 2nd bracelet and go right for Axe? I could give up homecoming stone, but I always like having one in my inventory to jump lanes or port home quick.

Never* pass up Homecoming stone.
Sell a Fortified and get a Glowstone. (you give up 3 damage and gain hp+mp). The extra 200 gold between Glow and Axe shouldn't be that hard to hold onto unless you're dying frequently enough that sotm is a pipedream.

On the other hand you can buy Mighty Axe first, and if things start to go bad you can turn it into a Shrunken Head instead.

*99.99% of the time, and the exceptions come from having an outpost at hand, or expecting to die in a rax push, or needing the slot for something more important, like a Token of Life or... Bananas.

skills cast during the animation of it but sometime there is a time before the skill goes off cus the animation needs to play (like :valk: has to throw her arrow for it to move), during that time you can press "S" or stop and it will cancel that animation, and thus the skill itself.

in other words, it's essentially a 450/700/950 magic damage nuke that requires you to damage the puppet instead of the hero. I think if a victim of Show is forced to non-lethally attack the puppet, it can be worth more than 950 damage, but in most situations it's "just" 450/700/950 damage with a long range, similar to Pyromancer's ultimate, but not immediate.

You can get rid of it by playing games without the "No Leavers" option so the % goes down.

Best combos depend on the players. Double stuns generally work, heavy DPS (like Swiftblades spin) and a long disable (like Electricians grip) are also good combos. Double healers like Accursed/Soulreaper work well to harass and hold a lane. Try things and use your initiative, good combos are obvious. There are no "best combos" either, since they can always be countered.

Don't think it can pick up eye, but if you hover the flying courier near wards then you stand near them they will appear. You have to be within 300 range of an eye for them to appear I believe.

If you're "stuck" in 1500 noob games then you're probably a noob yourself. If so, just try playing whatever hero you want, but read guides on them first and practice in Practice mode. If you really are stuck but are a higher player level, like in MatchMaking try semi-carry heroes like Wretched Hag or easy carrys like Swiftblade, Corrupted Disciple or Forsaken Archer.

Yeah thats fine. You can Kongor at level 7 if you're good at micro, but if 8 works go for it.

Can some one pls point me to a list of tips about each of the hero roles? Such tips may be what items to buy, how to play each stage of the game, how do you know if u perform your role well, what happens if you don't and so on ... should be general rather than hero specific.

I'm trying to teach a bunch of mates to stop farming like mad men regardless of what they pick and that they are actually damaging the entire team by doing that. Such a list would help a great deal. This might actually help the entire community considering some of the players come from wow, and diablo and such and have a very twisted idea about these roles.

I read somewhere that it is possible to make combo's when using ctrl key.
The only problem is i can't find where i read that.
For example, magmus, a stun followed by his ulti. It should be possible to que up the ulti so it's cast when the stun is cast.

Can someone explain to me how it's done?

did u mess around with the controls already?

it should be ur shift modifier.

it might just also be something ur doing wrong, buy a flying courier and move ur hero farm from where the courier is, then press Q -> E -> hold shift while pressing R

Trees respawn every 5 minutes, so 00:00, 05:00, 10:00.
They spawn regardless of if a unit is where the tree was, the tree will push you out the way and if you're stuck you should be able to use the anti-stuck system to slowly get out.

Because his turret attacks very quickly, so charged hammer on him + charged hammer on turret = kill very quickly

No. Your job is to heal with Cauterise, shield and generally keep your team alive whenever possible. You want things like Nomes/Astrolabe that increase your healing capacity, thats your team presence.

Anything that keeps you alive as long as possible is good. Nomes/Frostfield/Sacraficial stone all work well, definitely Plated greaves. Every second you're alive 1% of your enemys Total HP is drained, and you can heal on every CD for extra damage.

I have been playing alot of slither lately because he is so imba. His laning is sick with any one else who has a slow/stun/hold. I have been going with a very gank heavy attitude and it has worked well. My problem is what i should get gear wise. my starting build is courier, pretender's crown, minor totem, health pot, and runes. I then go for a quick bottle boots and finish a soulscream ring. My problem is that after finishing ghost marchers and nome's, which btw seems to me is a completely core item on slither. i have no clue what to go for. I have tried assassin's shroud but generally if i die its because i got bursted down or died trying to squeeze that little bit of dps out. What should i go for after completeling soulscream ring, ghost marchers, and nome's. I have looked around there are no up to date slither guides.

get power supply instead of bottle.
SotM and PK should be added after core (ghost marchers, soulscream ring, wards).
Nomes should be considered optional (mana reasons, is there any else supporter?).

imo pk helps alot to get ult of early in the teamfight, which actually is what u have to do midgame.

Slow. It lets your minions catch up, and they can CC the target even more.

The two stack, but Elder Parasite is a horrible item on Predator. He simply does not have enough armor to support it (Strength carries = Low agi growth), and intentionally killing your survivability as a carry is not the answer.

for mq u should get:
steamboots (gmarchers, not my fav, but viable) -> whispering helm -> shrunken head -> wingbow

that's rly all u need
(harkons is a nice but situational item to get on mq, if u have high magic dmg or a hero like puppet then get it, it affects all bounces)

Pretty sure you can use a debit card, you can even use those "cash card" things you get from shops (Walmart in American apparently).
