Name: Infested Templar
Class: Strength
Range: 120 (Melee)
Attack Weapon: Claws
Play style: For those of you who have played Starcraft, you will notice a similarity right off the bat. That's right, the hero is based around swarms like defiler's. The idea of the hero is to cast the swarm over your allies/yourself for protection from ranged units. Inside the swarm is where most of your spells, such as the ultimate, take effect. The feeding flesh passive is to allow the hero to tank a little more since it is a strength hero. The ministun ability should synergize well with the swarms since melee units will most likely have to kill Infested Templar.
Background:
Infested Templar was born into the depths of the wasteland. There, he learned to manipulate the large locust swarms, using them at his will. He has partially become part of the swarm himself, granting himself protection from their effects.
Spells:
1. Plague Swarm [Q,W,E]
Infested Templar is a master of the swarm. With his dark magic, he is able to summon a thick swarm of locusts to the target spot, so thick that it prevents projectiles from passing through.
Casts a swarm at target location. Swarms last 5 seconds each on separate cooldowns, with a maximum of 3.
Cooldown: 15/13/11/9 seconds
Mana: 55/60/65/70.
Effects: Prevents ranged attacks from within and going into the swarm and gives +2/3/4/5 armor to allied units within the swarm.
Range: 600
Radius: 350
2. Enraged [Passive]
The swarm does not approve of those not a part of the swarm. When Infested Templar is attacked in the swarm, the swarm has a chance to deal damage and perform a mini-stun to the attacker.
Has a 21/25/29/33% chance to deal 30/45/60/75 damage to the attacker and stun them for .5 seconds.
3. Feeding Flesh [Passive]
Infested Templar has become so finely attuned to the swarm that its flesh is partly composed of it. When attacked by melee heroes, Infested Templar's flesh hurts the attacker while healing himself.
When attacked, Infested Templar gains .5/1/1.5/2% of the enemy hero's maximum health and damages the enemy hero for .5/1/1.5/2% of its maximum health.
4. The Plague's Wrath (Ultimate) [R]
The swarm is a force to be reckoned with. Infested Templar calls upon the wrath of the swarm to damage enemies while protecting teammates.
Lowers enemy attack and move speed by 15/20/25% and deals 2/2.5/3% of the heroes maximum health per second while healing allies for 2/2.5/3% of their maximum health per second for 7 seconds.
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Mana Cost: 110
This hero is very incomplete. I'm looking on input to balance it out. Please vote if you like the ideas overall, not if you think it is balanced. You can help me out with the balance part. :)
Some things I need help on:
- Should the swarm just greatly reduce ranged damage rather than completely block it?
- What would be some good base stats/gain?
- Should the mana costs be increased so that less swarms can be spammed?
- I did a few quick calculations for balancing some of the skills, so I'm not sure if they really are balanced or not
