The Soul Reaper
Kicking ass and taking souls

The Soul Reaper is born in the depths
of Hell itself and has risen to the surface
on a mission to capture the souls of Newerth.
With the authority to instantly judge those he
comes in contact with, even the strongest of the
Legion wither when he approaches.

The soul reaper is a hero I seldom see in HON match's, and
when he does show his ugly mug. It usually ends with him
playing the hero wrong and making me cringe as he stays in
the back, rather then leading the pack.

Judgment

The Soul Reaper instantly judges those around him, determining their fate.
Enemies take damage while allies are healed.

Mana Cost 125/145/165/185
Cooldown 8/7/6/5
AOE 400/450/475/500

Deals 75/125/200/250 Magic Damage too enemies in radius
Heals 50/75/100/130 too all allies in the radius

Comments: This is your bread and butter skill, but not the one your famous for. This will let you farm hardcore once you get sufficient mana regen, and will keep you and your allies in fights longer. Though the numbers ain't amazing this is a powerful spell.

Withering Presence

Simply being near the Soul Reaper is too much for anyone, dealing damage to anyone near him

Area of effect 1000/1000/1000/1000

All enemies in radius of aura lose .4%/.6%/.8%/1% of their max health per second

Comments: Almost every strength hero in the game will hate you for this, hell nix that. Every hero will hate you for this. The range and damage of his aura will ensure your enemies suffer heavy penalties for their high health, or just for trying too Regen health. This will amplify your presence in team fights that much more.

Inhuman Nature

The Soul Reaper's Inhuman Nature lets him regain mana when he kills anything.

On kill, regains 12/24/36/48 Mana

Comments: Free mana must be awesome right? This skill is actual useful but not early game where it would really help. Your attack is too low and the animation kinda horrible while compared too most others. Although some people are very good at it and can make use of the skill, I find its usually best too be saved for later.

Demonic Execution (Hellbourne Execution)

The Soul Reaper summons a Demonic Execution against the target, stunning and dealing damage based on how close to death they are.

Green text is the effects of having the Staff of the Master

Mana Cost 175/330/500
Cooldown 100/85/70
Cast Range 600/600/600

Level 1: The amount of health the target is missing is multiplied by .4(.6). Magic damage is dealt too the target equal too this amount. Stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 2: The amount of health the target is missing is multiplied by .6(.9). Magic damage is dealt too the target equal too this amount. Stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Level 3: The amount of health the target is missing is multiplied by .9(1.2). Magic damage is dealt too the target equal too this amount. Stuns for 1.5 seconds.

Comments: This is what your known for, this is why strength heroes fear you. With this you can destroy anyone around half health. This spell should let you KO accursed bypassing his ult if your quick enough, or past all of that. It can be used as a simple stun too save a allies life.

Also as of Patch 0.1.62 when Soul Reaper gets a kill using his ultimate, a awesome Sound Clip will play. Your Soul is Mine!

Skill Build

As far as I'm concerned theirs only one build you should use with this guy, if your beyond amazing at last hitting feel free too take Inhuman earlier.

1. Judgment
2. Withering Presence
3. Judgment
4. Withering Presence
5. Judgment
6. Demonic Execution
7. Judgment
8. Withering Presence
9. Withering Presence
10. Inhuman Nature
11. Demonic Execution
12. Inhuman Nature
13-15. Stats
16. Demonic Execution
17-23. Stats
24-25. Inhuman Nature

Reasons: Though this is in no way a radical build in any way shape or form, i'll explain why the skills are taken in this order.

Judgment is your bread and butter skill, aside from your ultimate its your main damage dealer and gives you and your teammates healing throughout team fights. For these reasons its maxed first.

Withering Presence helps win lanes, preventing Regen and damaging all enemies in its large radius. Early game it prevents enemies from regaining health, and gives constant damage. Mid and Late game when everyone heath is getting higher the skill nix's health Regen all together, doing large damage too any tanks who get near you.

Inhuman Nature is a mixed blessing, early game you'll find it hard and irritating too get last hits with your low base damage. Your Judgment costs too much too spam and get the mana back early game. Unless your beyond good at last hitting with soul, chances are your not going too be finding this skill as useful as Withering Presence. Two levels are taken at levels 10 and 12 simply because by this time you should be able too spam your nuke for creep kills, just having two levels with your mana regen you'll find is more then good enough.

Demonic Execution (Hellbourne Execution) is obviously taken at every opportunity. Your ultimate can be used in a couple roles, a general damage dealer. You may not instant kill the enemy hero, but you'll stun and nuke him for a fair bit of damage letting your allies finish him off. It can be used too one shot any hero whose health falls too low around you, very useful against high hp heroes. Finally, it can be used too break channel spells. Not the best use of it but it can mean life and death for allies.

Item Builds

I've seen and used many different builds for Soul Reaper, I'll start with my usual build and list a couple alternate ones.

Tank/Slow Soul Reaper

Starting Items

http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/0/09/Runes_of_the_Blightitem.gif/60px-Runes_of_the_Blightitem.gif + http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/a/ab/Ring_of_the_Teacheritem.gif/60px-Ring_of_the_Teacheritem.gif

Runes of Blight (90G) and Ring of the Teacher (500G)

The armor and mana regen aura will be a welcome boon too your lane, and should provide adequate mana regen providing you don't start spamming Judgment willy nilly.
Note: Everyone plays at different levels, I can make this work for me. If your having problems early game, adjust your starting items accordingly.

Core Items

http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/b/bd/Plated_Greavesitem.gif/60px-Plated_Greavesitem.gif
Plated Graves (1503G)
The armor and move speed are the main attractions here, well aside from the Plated effect. The stats are minimal.

http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/6/67/Nome%27s_Wisdomitem.gif/60px-Nome%27s_Wisdomitem.gif
Nome's Wisdom (2300G)
This item is just plain awesome, you'll get a decent boost in STR and AGI. The INT gain is just plain nice, coupled with the extra damage will help your last hitting. The large mana regen coupled with the aura is what makes this item great for you.

http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/f/f0/Void_Talismanitem.gif/60px-Void_Talismanitem.gif
Void Talisman (1500G) -=Situational=-
Four seconds of physical immunity can mean life or death countless times, it can bide you precious time for a Judgment. Or it can just stop heroes dead as they struggle too understand why they aren't attacking you.
Note: This item is a core in any game where the enemy has more then a couple heavy attackers, if the enemy team is comprised of nukers. Feel free too ignore this item.

This is your core. You'll have a decent Mana Regen, your HP will be boosted a fair amount. The aura from Nomes Wisdom will help your team in team fights.

From here you can go Multiple paths, I'll be listing some of the ones I've found worthwhile.

http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/3/3a/Frostwolf%27s_Skullitem.gif/60px-Frostwolf%27s_Skullitem.gif
Frostwolf's Skull (6100G)
This is the big daddy. Grants a massive boost too every stat, and large boost too your Max Mana and Health. With this you'll be targeting the enemy carry, slowing and chewing away their attack speed. Slowing fleeing enemies, hell just plain slowing. The nice part about this is the different items required too make it. Having problems with Health? buy the Glowstone ahead of the Icebrand, or finish the Icebrand and Glowstone before finally saving for that expensive blessed orb.

http://honwiki.net/w/images/thumb/b/b1/Ward_of_Sightitem.gif/60px-Ward_of_Sightitem.gif
Ward of Sight (200G)
Depending on how your game is unfolding, or if your the only INT hero you can become the ward *****. Allthough I hate playing for others, sometimes spending tons on wards really is a great strategy. You'll tema will love you, you'll avoid ganks, and so forth.
