I know this might seem a little odd, but i think that the legion's troops are OP.

I just played a 1v0 game, i was Hellbourne, Slither. Throughout the game, the 3 lanes were flowing back and forth, sometimes in favor of the Hellbourne, sometimes with the Legion, all the while, I was Jungling with a hero i've never played before, very specifically not affecting the real battle at all. I never got hit by any legion troops and the legion troops never hit me. eventually, the legion troops get into my base and smash the sacrificial stone, even though none of the Hellbourne troops got to touch the Legion's base towers(the ones in front of the barracks's)

It could have just been (bad)luck, but i dont think a little luck would change the outcome that much.

Thoughts?

P.S.: has anyone else tried that and gotten other results?

I have ran a few games myself (solo) to see how things work out. It does seem to be random, mostly due to how creeps target. Sometimes creeps 'luck' out by concentrating fire thus weakening the other side faster. Really it can go either way though.

If legion has an advantage, the culprit is probably a combination of the arrow speed being higher than the Warlock's projectile, and the map. Ramps, especially, seem to create slight creep advantages.

(I too think Legion has a slight advantage if left alone)

Interesting, this actually happened in DOTA as well.

After 3-4 hours, Sentinel would always win in DOTA.

And just like in dota, the difference is so marginal, that it becomes negigible once a hero engages into conbat.

After all it is the force of Light we all in real life fight for :) who wants the bad guys to win eh? ;)

Out of curiosity, what would happen if you sat in the game with a Legion character? Do you think Hellborne would win? Is the game autobalancing for its participants?

Legion being stronger than Hellbourne only seems to matter in games with AP turned off--which I've never, ever encountered in HoN.

You didn't get what OP is talking about...

A lot of it has to do with how the creeps orient themselves when they leave the base. If the ranged unit is coming in front most often it will get killed early, and if that happens the main dps for creeps is gone.
