As the topic says this mod is all about swifts blades , which change effects depending on the item Swift is wearing. So far i made only 3 , but will make more if you guys like it.

There is one big BUT . You can't have all effects on as it would look bad , so i set them by priority which i determined by the price of the item.
Edit:
a) Edited SoTM effect and made it a bit more greenish as it was similar to the thunderclaw one
b) Added Wingbow body trail effect ( similar to Blood Hunter's thirst effect )
c) Added Abyssal Skul's effect ( stolen from Maliken but looks awesome , might adjust it a bit later though )
d ) Added Hack & Slash effect ( with lightsaber sounds ; i didn't erase sword textures as the beam on them would look rather dull , so i left them as is )
To Install:
Simply download resources1111.s2z (http://www.mediafire.com/?qwewzm0mmyj) into the Heroes of Newerth game folder. The default locations for this folder are:
Linux: /home/<username>/HoN/game/
Windows 7: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\
Windows Vista: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\
Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\
Mac:
1. Press Finder
2. Press Applications
3. Right click 'Heroes of Newerth', and press Show containing files
4. Open Game folder
5. Move file here
You will now have the Swiftblade mod. To disable it, simply delete resources1111.s2z or remove it from the game folder.

Can you set one the first one to one sword and the second one to the other if there are two? I think that'd be badass.

Made the first version availible to download. Haven't yet tested it live , but in practice mod it works like a charm , i see no reason for it not to work. ( P.S Number is not yet finalised so it may change )

Well unless developers do , i can't get them to work. Effects work fine , it's the item files that refuse to work.And without them this mod is useless . Too bad.......

I would think that if that is the case, then staff of the master would still work, since the effect is in the file for the hero. Is it possible to do these based on attack modifiers? I think it would be equally awesome to see waves of destruction go off with swiftblade's ult.
It might be possible to do it based on the backpack, but I don't think there's a way to find the name of an item in a backpack or relate this to the effects on the hero.
Is there a way to make your wingbow one as default? Wouldn't mind seeing that all the time.

Staff of the Master still works , infact every item effect here were made based on the SoTM.It's just that developers restricted item editing to prevent cheating or what ever reason they had.Unless Idejder tells us how to do it , its pretty impossible to achieve this effect

well, i got rid of my previous SB texture mod to see if it was conflicting. but even still this mod doesnt even take effect. anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

If you're testing it in practice then custom texture shouldn't conflict with it , except the effect . Don't see why you cant get it to work

make sure to include your mod's pictures in the thread too for more appeal, not just text. most ppl wont know waht you're talking about if u just say "allow a modifier tag for items"... but if you say "this is in order to make these pictures possible" bam bam bam, then ull get 100% yes votes, and S2 will see they can support the modding community by making things a bit flexible.

Yeah. Think the conclusion we came to is you can't add effects if they don't exist. In this case Magebane doesn't have a body.effect file by default, so it won't work.

wat if you completely replaced the model to allow the item stuff?
even if you can't have multiple items like for swiftblade, at least it might work for darthmagebane who only has one item variation?

It doesnt work because you cant edit the item files... It has nothing to do with body.effect... I could add santa hat to pandamonium who doesnt have body.effect by default so thats not the problem here... Its the item files which lack the modifier key needed for this mod to work...

The priority can be changed in code. At the moment it seems to be like the more item costs gold the more priority it has. Hope that made sense...

I think some text files or some parts of the text files are not allowed to be changed to avoid cheating. If you change or add something to it, it will only work on practice and not online.
I tried to put a Staff of Master effect on Ophelia, does work on practice but not online.. huhu

Item files are not allowed to be edited , that's why it's not working . I PM'ed Idejder 2 times to see if he can help to find another way but he still didn't replied :(
P.S. SoTM effect should be working fine online , hero.entity is allowed to modify

only few parts of hero.entity is allowed to modify.
Ophelia doesn't have any Staff of Master modifier on it, so i added the lines, and added a .effect.
only worked in practice but not online.
Heroes like Swiftblade, Magmus, etc. already got a SoTM effect, so changing the .effect will work just fine.

it can be made for any hero and it's quite easy but the problem is , it doesnt work online. Idejder havent replied to my PM's , so i dont know any different way to do it.
