I think the overall appearance would be similar but more traditional (black not pink as an example).
A staff is not allowed! Maybe a gun or a throwing knife. Not cards either, we all know the fail that it is, just look at Gambit from X-Men.

Story
Many people would have you believe them to be magical. I think that they are mistaken. For I, Mahou Shinsei, am the greatest of all magicians in Newerth. True magic is taking a Behemoth and making him disappear into nothing. True magic is creating not one illusion, but eight illusions of yourself. True magic is sticking a person in a box and blasting it, only to have them come out just fine. True magic... is writing your own hero biography. I, Mahou Shinsei, will show you true magic belongs on the battlefield and on stage.
I wrote this more as Mahou talking specifically to avoid the use of a background. This is meant to give less of a documentary type biography but instead give more personality to the hero.

A magician is the master of escaping. Whether it is escaping from a casket buried underground or out of a stun he is the master of it.

[1] Increase movement speed by 2.5% and debuffs as well as stuns last 5% less.
[2] Increase movement speed by 5% and debuffs as well as stuns last 10% less.
[3] Increase movement speed by 7.5% and debuffs as well as stuns last 15% less.
[4] Increase movement speed by 10% and debuffs as well as stuns last 20% less.

In order to gain the advantage of his enemies as well as confuse them, Mahou creates an illusion of himself.

[2] Mahou creates 2 illusions of himself, and all (de)buffs are removed.

Mahou Shinsei Image
Images of Mahou Shinsei have HP equal to Mahou's INT. An image will deal 30% of Mahou's base damage, attack modifiers do not trigger. Illusions last 14 seconds.

Role
Pretty much I plan for Mahou to play like a ganker or a support. Most likely you will do support like things or single out one enemy to target on. The only actual support skill is to turn one invisible (can be countered easily) and to make them take no damage (superior magic so no counter). Ganking will pretty much revolve around you creating images and auto attacking. If you can ULT you'd do so but pretty much Mahou is a straight auto attacking semi-carry.
