This mod replaces the default HoN Lobby and game music with the amazing music from the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann's Original Sound Track. This music is the perfect balance of manly spirit, determination and camaraderie. With this music in your game, you will never lose.

I tried to order the music so that the first time it cycled through them the song matched what's going on in game. The first songs are somewhat calm and determined sounding, how you would feel at the start of the game. Around the time team battles and team ganking is going on the "danger warning" songs start to play. Again, I just tried to do this. It doesn't work out perfectly, but it's worked out ok in some of my games.

I also tried to pick songs that were audible, but not overpowering. I'd appreciate feedback if any of you find you can't hear both the music and game sounds / voice chat. (The lobby music is an exception to this. I chose a more intense song because there's not really anything to hear in the lobby.) You might have to mess with your music settings a bit, try to tinker with it until you get the right balance as it will be different for everyone.

Anyway, even if you've never heard of this anime (or even if you don't like anime) you still might want to check this out. None of the songs have any japanese words or any references to anime besides the fact that they come from one.

This currently only comes in Honmod form.

Some people have asked me what exactly Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is, so i'll do my best to explain it right here.

It's an anime where humans are foced to live in underground communities because if they go to the surface they'll get killed by these "beastmen" that pilot mechs. One day however, this boy named Simon uncovers his own mech while digging out space for his community and he and his friend Kamina and a girl named Yoko go to the surface to try and get humanity their freedom. The show is very over the top (I can't stress this enough, very). Every episode of the show tries to be more and more over the top than the previous one, and the plot moves very fast compared to most longer anime. The show is quick, epic and manly. Also it has tits.

I like this a lot. I just finished Gurren Lagann and it is one amazing anime. Actually the best anime around. It beats bleach and naruto, which are just way to draggy and shitty. Anyways ironically I'm listening to the OST now and while I play, this mid will just make my life so much more awesome now.

I personally think it works better because it has more of a buildup to it, and it's longer. Since you're usually in the lobby for a while, a longer song works better. Plus I just thought the current one was too extreme, it was sorta just randomly picked without much thought.

Yeah, there's an english dubbed version of it out there.

and I was always a bit iffy about the 2nd track, but I haven't been able to decide on a song that would fit better yet.

It really doesn't fit. Having a soprano in the background really doesn't do it for me. If you really want some Row Row, the only places it's fitting to play those is when you start up Hon, so it plays right before the login, at the S2 logo. Or when you win or lose (not sure if this one is possible). And then I'm talking about the commercial break tracks that last 3 seconds. But this is Bearsmith's mod, he's the boss.

The new order of soundtracks is great. But there was a small probelm with the ending of track 6(I think it was track 6, I was in the heat of a clash). It just kinda ended like a few minutes in with a repeating error sound. Like a car engine.

When watching Gurren Lagann I always felt a bit more manly after watching it so imagine my surprise when I finally found this little gem of a mod. I LOL'ed at the testimonials and installed the mod to just try it out for lulz.

I have not lost a single game since I installed it. Seriously.

Pubs, scrims, nostats, SD, AP, NOAB, any game, you name it (except EM, UGH)... not a single loss. I dunno if there's some serious voodoo going on, but this mod will make you a manlier/better/awesome/MVP/allstar/phonebookripping player. Hands down. And your chest hair will grow by tenfold too. :p

After playing a while with it I got some conclusions:

Libera me from Hell would perfectly fit in lobby/heroes picking screen, with lyrics of course.
The Wolf has Arrived doesn't fit in.
How's it ! My trumpet is awesome, right! doesn't feel good while playing HoN also. (that one is really bound to anime imo)
Someone's Cursing Someone Else (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDkZItq5m0c&feature=related)would be a nice atmosphere builder for instense-mid game.

Finished the whole series. I did it really fast. I was so careless, it wasn't even funny.

The mod rocks. The music gets me all fired up. The old HoN music was epic, but kinda dead. TTGL's music is epic and very upbeat! I actually get to win (and carry) even though the enemy genocided us. Twice!

Well, you could just change the .package in the fe2 folder but who knows how long it will take before S2 fixes this themselves. The lobby and Menu music aren't playing with or without this mod (please tell me if I'm wrong) so fixing it could be a waste of time. The log in sound can be easily fixed though.

I don't know about music not playing when, what I was saying was that the mod doesn't display in my mod manager at all, so it doesn't function in any way.

All of the sounds that aren't playing are because it all works differently. I just updated it to be able to run with this patch, i'll fix the specific sounds as soon as I can.

Also, is anyone else having Duomaxwe's problem? I'm not and I don't have any clue as to what could cause it.

I absolutely adore this SoundPack, I can hardly play straight without it anymore. That brings me to my problem though, none of the music plays. I can't figure out why and have uninstalled, deleted, redownloaded, re-applied, turned off other mods in ModMan, just about anything I can think of to fix it and nothing. I downloaded your file Sly and am gonna see if maybe my problem was like Duo's and this fixes but, we'll see.

Now I do have two individual soundpack mods (the Mario coin sound and star power). Before having all 3 on worked fine, but could those be messing it up? Halp, I miss my TTGL music ;.;

They edit different sounds, so it would be improbable. The s2z should fix the problems, and if not just check if the music is on in the settings..

I enabled and disabled the Soundmod in HoN Mod manager and put Slywolfs file in Heroes of Newerth/game. I also checked if i silenced the backgroundmusic in options, but i didn't. No music whatsoever, halp?

edit: Disregard that, i sux cox. Music started playing at 00:00 and I was all like "omfg wtf bbq". But it still doesnt work in lobby and stuff (if it was ever intended). Still, awesome mod, and thanks to slywolf!

Perhaps you might want to delete your startup.cfg located in C:\Users\X\Documents\Heroes of Newerth\game

After that, you might want to reapply your mods and go into HoN and reconfigure all your mods again. At least, that worked for me.

Nevertheless, god damn it. This sound pack needs an update to fill in the other 3 new HoN music tracks. Except going through the OST's playlist in Youtube, I couldn't find any decent ones D=
