I did a Maliken render last night. But it was a 2 second job and a low quality render from me, tbh. Still looked epic in the sig, but I spose with some of my spare time I can pen tool heroes out of their backgrounds and make a HQ render.

And people, renders with a blank background, are actually NOT images with a white background. There's a difference :)

When I referred to the background, I meant it's a lot easier to cut something out of a plain background, especially effects, when using the channels/levels method.

As far as I know that's just an early concept for Rampage.

Get a concept art (drawn by S2), use Photoshop to cut out the subject from the background, then save as PNG to preserve the transparency.

The cutting out is the hardest part, and there are many techniques. Preference and the actual image determines which technique you use.

Can someone just draw a good valkyrie art? There arn't any anywhere that I could find that looks nice or anything like valk. There is also a better Forsaken Archer drawing and i'm using it for my signature below.

yea, high quality of FA is already known... but valkyre is really hard to find... I mean, there is no valk art... 3 options:
1) wait until they make it (for final HoN version, or something)
2) pesonally ask them to make it
3) do nothing

EDIT: oh yeah there are 2 more options:
4) use the current valk images (cutted from wallpapers)
5) make one art yourself

I think the scorpion one seems a bit blocky, didnt get to finetune him, Rhino was simple though

The best way to test your render redskin, is to put it on a background opposite of the original. For example most HoN concepts are on white backgrounds, so put it on a black background to fine tune edges.

As you can see below, there is a white outline. It's not a big deal for sigs as you'd be able to blend it in anyway, but just letting you know =)

Either way it's fairly easy getting rid of a white border like that. Just select everything, contract it by 1px, invert selection and delete.

Manually is always going to be more precise though. Pen+tablet is easier, but mouse is fine.

Sorry about double post but wanted to bump.

Here's my attempt at rendering blacksmith.
The fire effects were the hardest but I did my best. You can also see the bad quality caused by the jpeg format of the original. Luckily it's big enough that when put in a sig it will look fine.

The Pest renders were the original ones made. Looks like unkown did the Chipper one.

Techniques? Cut it out manually. You are never going to get a good render by using automatic selection tools (ie magic wand). The Polygonal Lasso Tool is quite good if using a mouse. The Pen Tool gets the best results but takes a lot of practice.

Redskin, look up how to render effects for things like flame. The Gauntlet render looks good.
The Dungeon Master one as you said has the white line. Google helps here too, but a fairly easy solution is to select the whole render, then go to Selection > Modify > Shrink by 1px. Then Ctrl+Shift+I to inverse then delete. Feathering might help too if the result is too jagged.
