A lot of Asian teams have asked us to organize tournaments on Saturday, since they start very early and it's very hard to play them on Sunday, because of school/work.

What does the whole community think about this? On which they should we organize our tourneys, Saturday or Sunday? Please leave us feedback.

Well as far as I'm concerned, Sunday is better for EU and US players since some people may have a RL and playing HoN on Saturday night is not the way I want to spend it.

My 50 cents.

I don't like playing at noon, nor do I like having to figure out what my time is in GMT. Post US times?

You can't make everyone happy with an all-day tournament. I'd say its more up to you which region you'd like the tournament to focus on.

Tournaments on Sunday for US mean they will be on Monday for Asia.

So, running them on Saturday will allow Australian/Asian teams to also compete (on Sunday).

Obviously the better choice!

BTW Angel, nobody said you had to play at noon so not sure where you got that from. Noon in the US would make it like, 4AM-ish in Asia.

Looking at the votes, we are probably going to do it like that.

We need more votes!

Nobody said I had to show up at the chosen time to play, I can make my own times.

You people realize that these tournaments take around 4-8 hours (if not more) to complete, so w/ teams from US (4 time zones!), EU (3 time zones as well) and Asia/Australia, someone will have to play at 4 am in the morning no matter what.

So priority should be given to the top seeds. If you are good you deserve to choose the time of your liking. If you are not that good, but really want to play, you will have to wake up at 4 am and do it.

PS It's not like people that play HoN in Asia go to sleep at 4am Saturday anyway.

Well, you gave the asian teams a chance, and the result was like... 2 asian teams signing up?

I have really liked the format we have had in the past, 19:00GMT on sundays.

This is 2pm EST, and 11am PST. Any earlier, and I think it will be trouble for people on the west coast to get up in time.

It seems like all of the teams have been able to make sunday in the past. Also I prefer having the tourney all in one day, since everyone knows to get on at one time, and to stay on. Trying to schedule a time that two teams of 5 people can make to play only one match is a nightmare. The last HL tourney took weeks to finish, while we get an entire tourney in one day.

I think my only request for GR is to implement a losers bracket, so that the 16 teams that get eliminated in the first round have a chance to play more than one game.

i would say Sunday a lot of people turn up on Sundays, but it depends because some people work on Monday so.

Or tournaments can actually occur throughout the week, and require each team to complete each round within 2 days.

I.E.

Round 1 has to be completed on Sat/Sun
Round 2 Mon/Tue
Round 3 Wed/Thurs
Round 4 Fri

Makes it more flexible and more realistic, imo. What's the rush anyways?

Chances of people being available to that extent are small. That's why you want it to be done in one day.

I would rather have them Saturday because Sunday football games in the US :D

Yeah, I guess.

From my experience though, teams set up when they want to play :[ I personally dislike sacrificing saturdays though!

I hope every person in the US/Europe voted Sunday. Playing video games on saturday-saturday night = sadface

Nobodoy said it has to go into the night. You have what 4-5 rounds right now, each game ending in about 45 minutes on average (the first few games for the top teams that will actually get to play 4-5 rounds are usually concede at 15 ...)

Last tournament we got to quarter finals versus WHP, 3 rounds in about 3 hours. So from 11 pm -> 2 pm (PST tho :D)

You can go out at 11pm on Sat night, but you will miss all the games on Sunday :D Just saying, if you don't watch football at all it's unlikely you have anything major going on Saturday night anyway ;)

PS and from Euros, all the major soccer league games are usually Sunday night (Exception of course are Saturday national games -- but those are rare) like Barca-Real that was just this weekend.

agreed - realistically won't be able to make at least half of the tourneys if it's a saturday.

beer > hon

Not mutually exclusive.

Ok maybe you can do both.

But you can't do: beer + gf + sex > HoN :D
