View Full Version : Predator still needs a buff

He offers minimal utility and low damage until he gets stacked. Leap is a poor initiator.

Changes needed:

1. Uncap primal rage's attack speed buff, let it stack up to +400% IAS.
2. Should be allowed to leap to friendly targets, i.e. using leap as an escape tool
3. Leap should poison all enemies in a 350 aoe at the landing point

This would make predator a viable comp pick

Even with those buffs I don't think he would be that good. Primal Rage never seems to stack that quickly anyways, especially if it's not a huge team battle. The poison duration is waay too low, and I'm pretty sure his base Attack Speed is horrible. It seems that they need to just make him hit harder/faster

Predator still needs more work, and you're right OP currently he's not usable in high level play.

I think he just needs some sort of farming skill. That or increase his base attack/move speed so he can gank more early game. I think the cast time of his ult also takes too long.

It stacks quickly if he leaps into the fray and initiates. Unfortunately, it only slows one target and lasts a couple of seconds, and he's likely to just be wasted if he does this before getting his vanguard/armlet/heart, which means he's safer leaping in mid-fight. Which means his primal rage is only good for the base +30 IAS since nothing will target him.

I like his ult, so thus his initiate needs to be much stronger and his ult worthy of building a whole item set around (rushing vanguard, armlet, then heart before any real damage items).

Predator's damage output is HORRIBLE.
For a STR, his tanking isn't good either. For a hero that depends on being hit to do something, that's kind of worthless. You could cast his ult on another hero, but that implies someone else is doing higher DPS than you, in which case, your lineup is worthless with two carries anyway.

He's like a N'aix without Infest. Sad.

Another good idea would be making the 12 armor from his stoneskin a passive, and only the magic immunity active. Base armor boost would help greatly.

If they made leap do no damage, but have a ministun and a 8 sec duration at 30 damage a sec with a 15% movespeed slow I would like that better than current version.

Also like the idea of passive armor increase on stoneskin, but could become too much like Dragon Knight ability if they put him in.

I think he really strong.Mordigan+Vladimir+hood and he can go 1 vs 3 easy.

Well, he is quite strong on pubs, as far as I see. I'm no extra good player and I can't really judge whether he's underpowered or not, just don't buff him too much.

Needs slight attack/movement speed increase. Other than that, everything looks fine besides the ult (imo) currently.

Predator, much like Naix, is something of a comeback king.

Yesterday one of my teamates got ganked by 4 players and through our team's efforts everyone heroically escaped, except me, as Predator. I managed to get myself caught in the middle of their team, now joined by their 5th and last player, but my mates were fleeing past our 2nd tower with <30% health each. At about 50% health with my Stone Skin on cd I realized I wasn't getting away, however I managed to kill three of them in a glorious last stand with my health hovering between 10-30% the whole time.

Mind you, this was only because they were so confident I was dead that they didn't try and run makin me whiff uselessly at the air. Had my first target not let me hit him I'd have dropped like a rock.

Predator does generally seem weak, perhaps an amplify damage on the victim of his leap could help, maybe an increase in the duration of the slow. Also could make his ultimate a AoE team buff based centered on himself in a limited area, say 400-1000 around him.

On a side note, putting Pred's ult on Hammerstorm is really really effective. And they tend to be very happy with it.
