Oh this will work for blacksmith.
Nothing like getting PWNED by random chances.

Im only aware of crit items giving melee and ranged dmg the crit chance and not spells, so it wouldnt be a good item for the blacksmith. And on the other hand blacksmith is not a good melee fighter, he is a nuker and whould not benefit to good from the dmg which is way to expensive for his income.
tho it can be frustrating to purely rely on 1% crit luck

I don't like games based on luck. Makes skillbased games not skillbased... IMO

You won't be RELYING on the 1% crit, the item also gives +120 damage and an activation skill that increases your attackspeed at the cost of 60 damage. The whole point of the item, is the lucky strike, yes, but you won't be relying on it for you to deal the damage.

Then go play StarCraft, HoN has a ton of luck involved. Let's say your hero has 48-66 damage, someone gets away with 10 hp from you, you may have been dealing alot of low damage blows, but if you'd been lucky, you could've dealt alot of high damage blows, and he would've been dead.
You're not guaranteed to be hitting a hero when the 1% crit lands, and if you are, then you've likely been hitting alot of heroes that game / you are playing a hero-killer class - in which case, this item is the right item for you (if you can farm enough to get it :D).

HoN is not based on luck. Luck helps, but the skilled will beat the lucky any day. Luck gets you the kill, Skill gets the win.

I did not say that HoN is based on luck, not sure where you got that from, I just said that HoN has a ton of luck involved.
A roll of the dice is based on luck, a game of HoN is a mix of both luck and skill.

If im not relying on the 1% lucky strike, why should i even buy the item in the first place? If one buys Windfury, one will have permanent attack speed increase+evasion and thats even cheaper than your item. As you see, i actually DO rely on the 1% crit.

Point taken, tho wingow (which I'm assuming you are referring to) does not grant +120 damage. In any case the values might need to be tweaked slighty, but the point of the item is not to RELY on the 1% crit, the point is to have an item that can increase your damage by a good bit in the later parts of the game, while also when needed, increase your attackspeed by a good bit. Ofc, the item is not designed to be good for all heroes, like most other items.

I quoted you but meant it for altaks.
But as far as your item goes; I think because of its' cost, and because it's just damage, it would see just as little action as the Divine Rapier. As far as raw damage items go, I'd always take the Mock of Brilliance first, then use the rest of the gold for something else. I just really dislike dropping that much gold into raw damage.

This item almost costs more than a Divine Rapier and 1/2 as useful.
