When I bought this computer less than a 3 months ago, it ran the game above 120 fps

core i5 3570k 3rd gen cpu @ stock 3.4
8g of kingston hyper x ddr3 @1333
xfx r7850 DD 2gb memory
on a 1920x1080 monitor

problem i overclocked both the cpu and gpu, 4.4ghz and 1050//1450 respectively the game has started to run at ~70

i also OC'd the ram with multipliers but i changed it back to default afterwards

seeing that it went down i restored the gpu to default and still.. 70 ish fps

and then i tried lowering the cpu over clock to 4.0

still nothing its at 70 fps, then i went to my bios and just reset it to default so im sitting at 3.4- 3.8 with turbo boost turned on by default.

cpu was oc'd by bios multipliers on unlocked cpu, and gpu was oc'd on both msi afterburner and the ati catalyst software

no idea if fps drop happened in other games, maybe its just how hon deals with my graphics driver? or something :S

im not worried that 70 fps wont be enough im just worried that my gpu isnt doing as well as when i first bought it :P

if anyone has a similar problem or has a solution please comment down below.

You probably goofed something when you were fiddling. I would reccomend trying different games. It may be that one of your OC programs is putting a 70 FPS limit on your rig to reduce pointless excess heat from getting those extra 50 frames. The human eye (or at least mine) can't really tell the difference for anything over 60, so processing more frames than that is just generating excess heat and increasing your risk of crashing/frying something.

thanks for the quick reply, but i've already removed afterburner from my computer all i have left is the AMD control centre and i dont htink that is removable.. thing is the gpu is only at ~43 degrees.. at 100% load even when OC'd and a little under when its not

The misconception of FPS not being recognised over 60fps is incorrect. Your eyes can see this, due to the update rate not being identical to your eye's refresh rate and the overall refresh functions in a different way within the eye.

Please check if "V-SYNC" is on for either the AMD control or inside of HoN, as this limits FPS to prevent tearing.
