Welcome to my sound mods. In this thread I will put all of my sound mods, because ever since I made my King Leonigionnaire sound mod, I started liking it.
So far I have made [5] sound mods.
I am currently working on [0] sound mod(s).

Fixed legionnaire's file download which had the file named resources3017, now it will be resources 3020 as it is supposed to be.
Added predator.

maybe you can make more than one sound profile for a hero? I think this one fits quite well, and it's pretty interesting to listen to as well/

Soul Reaper: Dragoon from starcraft (4 legs, totally looks and walks like a Dragoon, right?)

throw in some zealot sounds too, if dragoon voices aren't interesting enough. dragoons are zealots fitted with a cyborg exoskeleton after all.

Rampage: Indiana Jones (when he casts charge, the little theme song plays dandadada~ dan danaa~)

this one doesnt have a to be a full sound profile. just when he uses this one skill, kind of like how one guy did just one sound for when devourer hooks to "get over here" (scorpoion - mortal combat). that devourer mod is compatible with full sound profiles of other devourer mods

btw, to make sound mods, do you just cut out sound clips, rename it to the "ogg" file, and then place it in the appropriately named forlders, and hten finally package it as an s2z file?

like theres a lot of Heroes episodes on Hulu. But what kind of format do you need to extract the sound file? you can just use fraps and then edit that video by separating the sound with the video, and then crop the sound clip on another audio program?

atcually a better place might be youtube, since most of Hiro Nakamura's interesting quotes comes from the 1st season.

i'll feed you links for now. maybe eventually i can atcually profile the sound files if someone can tell me what programs they use/what process they do

As I remember it Hulu doesn't work in Europe?
And yeah, I need the sounds in either .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .wma... Well, any format.
And fraps doesnt work out of games by the way.

I also just played a game with Hammerstorm and realised how his voice is pathetic, so I'll work on that too.

And I don't think I can make the song last for as long as Rampage is charging, it's just one single file I think.
Maybe you would need to look at the code but I don't know if that code is accessible...

you just need to use the right program that can separate sound from video. and then convert that extracted sound to the type of file you want. i'll try to find a fitting prog. for general videos.

in order to get rid of that song in that one vid, i pm'ed the maker of the video for the one without the song, since he did add it in when he made the video. i'll let u know if he replies

it really surprised me how quickly you made indiana jones. did you already start working on it before i suggested it?

Thanks for all those sound clips, I have now been able to make the basic structure of the Hiro mod. Now I just need to add some finishing touches :D
Oh and as a side note, I needed to do a lot of sound editing in audacity to remove noise and additional sounds from the files, so some sounds sound a bit weird, although you can still understand what hiro says... And that's the main thing, right?

ohh, the background noise. as long as it's functional it's good. you can always make improvements later on if you find the means.

maybe you would know of some audio editors with volumes for diff frequencies to remove some of the background noise

Naa don't worry, I removed *nearly* all of it using audacity, it's just his voice that sounds a bit "wahwah" now, but not too much.

Naa i wasnt able to separate background song, I just didn't use that video.
Separating the background song would require a professional imo.

Quick trick, but low quality trick: de-amplify the volume until you can only hear Hiro's voice, then re-amplify it to the same level. Usually gets rid of any background noise as long as the background noise is low volume.

Yeah pretty much.

It's a trick me and my friend used at our school student radio to make our own sound effects from other stuff (including youtube videos) while not having background noises. Usually works like a charm for us, cause the extra effects we add in hide the fact that it's not that great quality.

I dunno I only messed with Audacity because our school is cheap... and Audacity is free... so you can just see how cheap my school is.

It was hard finding enough good quotes, so i included as much as i could.
But i did include the "yatta" when he successfully timefreezes on attack as was suggested.
