I'm under the impression that the leaver system does not work properly. There are still way too many leavers and disconnects in many of the games that I play, so I feel the best course of action is a reworking of the leaver percent system.

Currently, I've played 880+ matchmaking games, and still have a 0% leaver status. This means that I could technically play 60 straight games and leave every single one of them before I started to be denied access to matchmaking.

My solution is simple: calculation for leaver percentage needs to be done ONLY for the last 50-100 games played by that player.

This way, the threat of becoming a leaver would be much more real. It would force players to realize that they can't simply abandon their teammates, and all it would take is 7 games out of 100 and they could potentially lose the privilege of playing with matchmaking.

I'm reluctant to agree.
Sometimes, you may find yourself in circumstances where you may have to leave a game frankly. Say, a household member is severly ill and might need to be taken to a doctor/hospital out of the blue. These circumstances can last for many months. The proposed system would punish players who are misfortunate. The current system is fairer for out-of-the-blue leaving periods. I don't know if I worded my concern properly so it makes sense.

You see that you have the ability to leave 60 games and still be able to queue.
I see it that you have 60 games where if you have to leave due to urgency, you can do so without worry.

I don't want sincer leavers to be punished for doing the right thing due to misfortunate circumstances in the pursuit of punishing the punishable.

Isn't losing MMR enough?

I feel that the team should be able to keep voting to give dcs more time to reconnect. If a person rages, etc. 60 times in a row and still has an acceptable leave %, then they have earned that by not leaving a ton of games -- but I feel that voting for extra time would prevent many 5v4s on account of true technical difficulties. Teams would still ave the regular 3 mins of pauses, but could opt to hang in there 5v4 while an ally reboots his/her slow computer, deals with a short blackout, etc., if needed.
