View Full Version : [Gameplay] Buffing Sand Wraith: Some suggestions

I love the hero design of Sand Wraith and would like to see him more often as a viable pick. Unfortunately this hero is known to be very difficult to balance.
I had some thoughts which should be looked at independently from each other, but some of them may be done combined though.



#1 Increasing the damage reduction of Dissipate from 4/8/12/16% to 10/14/18/22%

#2 Change Dissipate so that it deals 75% of the reduced damage as True AOE damage
-> With 3000hp and 22% damage reduction this would result in a maximum of 495 true damage

#3 Add +2 magic armor per level of Dissipate (as Devourer's Cadaver Armor, but with +2 instead of +1 per level)

#4 Add a minus armor aura to Dissipate

#5 Enemy hero's effected by Desert's Curse are inflicted with -1/-2/-3/-4 armor

#6 Add a -1/-1/-3/-5 armor debuff to Deserted. Lasts 1.5 seconds

#7 Add a -3/-6/-9/-12% movement speed slow debuff to Deserted

#8 When Sand Wraith casts Mirage he gets +20 armor and magic armor for 2.5 seconds. Making it easier for him to escape from ganks or initiate in team fights

#9 When Sand Wraith teleports to an enemy via Mirage, the targeted enemy gets silenced and perplexed for 3 seconds

#10 Casting single target spells on Sand Wraith returns 50% of the damage done

Actually I think all those things you just mentioned are to overpowered for so much reasons, but the reason why I post is not that.
He's already buffed recently and he has a really good winning % at this moment, you just need to know how to play him.

I think some of his ideas are good, right ideas, maybe a bit OP. +1 he needs buffs, +1 you have good buff ideas, -1 your ideas a OP. I think you're on the right track, but I don't think sw needs too much.

i find sw is a very inactive hero
all he does is farm and in teamfights he just runs around and tanks a lot - nothing special u can do with him tbh
he needs something that makes him exciting to play something completely new (for example another active spell instead of one of his passives)

I actually only added a poll to get an overview which ideas are more in the right right direction and which are less (Also for someone who does not want to comment, but would make a vote). So it's not supposed to be a do it/don't do it poll.

Some good ideas, maybe need some work. My biggest issue is with #10, and because of 2 heroes in particular. Can you guess? Why it's witch slayerand pyromancer of course! What happens when one of those 2 ults sw? Taking 500 magic damage when you kill someone is not really ideal. Maybe though you could have it be 100% if fb ults him when his hp is below 10% :P

yes cause sand wraith is just a bland, boring, useless hero. we need more heros with no weaknesses to make this game interesting

that, please don't buff sw only bcz u don't play with him, if u use the spells correctly and be a "carry" u will see the true power of sw.

he dont need any buff

I don't want to see him buffed, because he is picked rarely. Yes he is strong, but picking him has a high risk to not get farm early enough to stay in the game. A team that managed to get farm on a SW and did not get too far behind should be paid off more.

I would suggest you try to make your suggestions conform to the suggestion forum rules, and maybe describe the reasoning why you think your ideas are good and should be implemented.
