This skill needs to be reverted to the way it was in dota (only heal while the shield is on.) While it's not hard for heroes to avoid hitting him while he has it on, it's a pain in the ass when they can tank towers easily (or rather more easily) and the FOUNTAIN.
I thought he was good enough the way he was, change it back to invulnerable while active without shield and absorb damage with the shield on. His survivability has been boosted enough now the that cooldown on fire shield (aphotic shield) has been HALVED. (More than that actually.)
Now that I think about it Flame Shield could use a cooldown increase as well.

Actually in DotA it now heals him for the full duration, it's been that way for a long time. Though yes, for awhile it was only with the shield on.
It's not terribly imbalanced, people often complain the animation is hard to see, which is more so true in HoN than it was in DotA. But generally when fighting Accursed, it's expected he'll use this, so in anything short of a 5v5 cluster****, you really ought to be able to spot it.

Guess it's been a while since I've played him on dota. I still think Flame Shield needs a longer cooldown though.

sanger just play him a bit you'll understand he is a support tank at best he doesnt dps and the only thing that his ult used to do was be invulnerable and glitch out to fully heal him if his shield popped while his ult was active. its much better the way it is

His shield needs to be able to remove debuffs and stuns in this.

it never removed stuns (unless you consider maleface(sp?) as its a debuff stun
and if it doesnt remove "most debuffs" in HoN i vote it should
p.s. i personally dislike this hero though it is fun every so often being able to run infront of the team often and not die

He is horrible in dota....And doing that would limit his ult which is already useless as it is. If he is in your fountain you just lost. So who cares. Moot thread.

His shield spell does remove debuffs. His ult is fine as well, the only time it becomes an issue is if your teammates don't understand how it works.

He isn't horrible. He's the only hero that can remove stuns in progress. He's a better debuffer than Omnknight and Dusa.

is it just me or is it that his ult animation is hard to see, so i have no clue when hes using flame constipation. maybe its my graphics card maybe not xO

I think we need a thread posting hero's animations. This isn't the only one I have problems spotting, but I will say it is one of the hardest. I rarely spot it before I see his health bar going up, and even it's almost worthless to stop attacking, because undoubtedly a teammate will heal him if you don't, and as a result of human reaction time in general, late game melee agi chars will heal him in under 2 seconds. I think the key to it is, wait til late game when you plow out tons of damage on like Swiftblade or madman, get lifesteal, stand there and beat on em til he dies. You just need to be able to lay down a ridiculous amount of hurt in a very short time, which both those chars can do.
Seriously though, a thread posting the different character's animations would be sick. I don't have a fraps so I can't do it, but would really appreciate if someone who does, would. Anyone else have trouble spotting Bloodhunter's ult animation? I never seem to see it, maybe it is because of the way the character is modeled or naturally moves.

Yeah the animation should be made clearer everytime I fight against him I have to guess and pause at around 400 hp and look closely if that little blue flame is there. Maybe make the flame bigger?

As if the animation matters...in a game with more or less good players, his ulti is just plain useless...I mean, you KNOW it'll activate...the only thing it can be used for is to escape (sometimes) or to be really happy if a retarded swiftblade is in the game!

Or you can be smart and activate it when you see them throwing spells at you.

I find the animation Impossible to see.
If you add that to the fact that half of the hero models looks the same, you rarely realise when to stop hitting him...
Not only the animation should be changed, the hero models should be redone. Legionaire, Accursed, Hammerstorm, Devourer, Pebbles, Kraken, and many many more use the same colour pallete, which in intense 5v5 action makes it really hard to diferientiate who is who.
That is terrible.

Put me on the "impossible to see animation" bandwagon as well. I mean, it's not IMPOSSIBLE, but I look at his health bar instead of his model to tell when it's up/down. Shouldn't be the case...

It removes any and all stuns in DotA.

IMO, Flame Consumption should have a more bigger and noticable animation, I can hardly notice the flame from him when hell breaks loose in a battle, then in an instant, his health is full again.

Also agree. Flame Consumption needs to be MUCH more obvious. For ex, give him a bright red, flaming version of how heroes look when they pick up a Tablet of Regeneration (green body armorish).

His ult is quite easy to spot, unless you're color blind.. It's a large blue hue all around him, which is much different than the black/orange.

I'm curious what resolution and the specs of the people's computers that have problems seeing his ulti. To me it's fairly easy to spot but with someone who has an older computer it might be a problem.
I'm running the game at 1280x1024 and it's super easy to see. I keep getting annoyed by all the people who keep hitting him when the animation is clearly displaying. It gets tedious to always have to shout DOOOOONT HIIIIIIT HIIIIIIIIIM. What's even more annoying is the people who keep hitting him even if the health bar is filling up. It's like they're thinking that if they hit him long enough he'll get less health once the ultimate ends... :/

agreed in smaller fights its easier to notice and expected but there really should be a more noticeable animation i think
