Captain’s Journal
Day 1
All hells broken loose in the north lands. The demons we had garrisoned there to guard against the Beast Horde’s attack turned on us. Baron Salfois sent us south to request reinforcements from the legion.
Day 2
We were ambushed by demons last night. Four of the men died before we managed to escape. There is thick black smoke on the horizon I have decided to travel west towards the Frost Fangs in the hopes of better protection at night.
Day 3
We came upon the remains of a group of imps. There wasn’t much left of them just body parts and great long streaks of blood in every direction. Traveling near the Frost Fangs doesn’t seem like such a good idea any more but there is more smoke to the east and I fear the worst.
Day 4
We were attacked by wolves the size of horses. Our hedge wizard’s arm was torn off while casting a spell. God knows why but he went up in one hundred foot column of fire and scared of the wolves.
Day 5
Unwilling to sleep on the ground we climbed up a massive tree and tied ourselves to the branches for the night. In the morning we found the trunk of the tree savaged as though the beasts were attempting to climb up it.
Day 6
We are making camp in the trees again tonight. We should reach the end of the Frost Fangs tomorrow and from there it is a two day journey on foot to the nearest legion stronghold. I only hope we will be able to get aid to baron Salforis in time.
Night 6
They can climb trees. Smaller wolves came tonight they seemed to have fetishes tied to them. As they reached the trunk of the trees their forms twisted. Paws became clawed hands and their hindquarters contorted to allow them to walk upright. They scaled the first tree and killed my men as they slept bound to the branches. There was no room for me in the first tree so I volunteered to sleep alone. I do not know why they did not come after me but in the morning I will make for the south as quickly as I can.
End of entries.
