Since a person posted earlier about they left the country when the ban went into place, and the ban itself didnt effect them, I propose a new way to ban folks.
If a person is currently online when the ban goes into place, no big deal, this is null.
However, I believe that upon a guilty infraction going into place, instead of either A.) Immediately, or B.) a determined time by the bot, that as soon as the person logs into HoN, their ban length starts. This way the person is actually paying for their punishment. For instance
Player X griefs. Player Y submits ticket. Player X is found guilty and the program Spring Banhammer Of Justice decides on 3 day ban. Then upon player logging into HoN, player is told "NAO. BANNED."
Thoughts?

No, because:
1) The players who really care will play the system, like logging in just before leaving to trigger the bans.
2) It feels like insitutionalized trolling. Considering S2 punish self-defense as griefing (like afking a team of asswipes but avoiding the leave%) it doesn't make much sense for them to grief players in any way beyond the even application of justice.
3) When you are banned for 3 days, it makes sense to find somehting else to do, not sit at HoN login screen and cry to yourself. That dude didn't time the ban (he was surprised it went through so fast - it could have gone through just as he came back!), it was a happy coincidence.
4) The penalty of increasing ban durations will still apply as a deterrent
5) That dude in your example was AWESOME - thats more of a side note, but you really shouldn't bring punishments directed as him as an example.

this bot should factor in when people go to sleep
you don't really care about being banned when you're sleeping, so you should have to log on to hon before you go to bed and after you wake up to increase your ban time

I highly doubt that people go on vacation every time they get banned.

Suspending someone for breaking the ToC isn't greifing. It's upholding the rules. Dont avoid the afk detect and you dont have to worry about it. Just afk, since your team doesnt want to cc.

What anyone does with their time is up to them. If they decide to cry at the login screen, they'll do so no matter when the ban goes into place.
4) The penalty of increasing ban durations will still apply as a deterrent
The penalty of increasing ban durations is already set up. It's supposed to be a deterrent. Dont be an asshat, you dont get banned.
5) That dude in your example was AWESOME - thats more of a side note, but you really shouldn't bring punishments directed as him as an example.
The guy in the example purposely griefed his teammates because they didnt see eye to eye. Calling him awsome for purposely screwing up a game shows what I began to guess from your first point. You sir, are a troll.

As always, you take something and make it an extreme. Troll a different thread.

You call others trolls, yet you are trying to get S2 to troll players.
My first point was that waiting for you to want to play before banning you is flat out trolling your customer. Its as if the courts didn't put people in jail when they commited a crime, but waited for the criminal to get his life together - like get richer, or have a family - and then were like "ooooh you're happy now - off to jail you go!". Your logic being that if they had nothing going on right after they got caught they woudn't have minded jail as much.
The penalty of increasing ban durations applies regardless whether the 3 day ban affects you - the next one will be 7 days or whatever. I.e. even if you don't care about ban #2, the next ban you experiencec will be longer. I'm not sure why you felt you need to quote me and then say exactly the same thing.
You don't have to go on vacation to play the system - you could just, for example, log in before you go to sleep to make sure any potential bans get triggered. Retarded situation is retarded.
You idea is bad, get over it.
