View Full Version : [Answered] Griefing by Mods is worse than by players

OK, how does this happen exactly...

1. I get a warning for "refusing to concede in an effort to spite teammates" - this was 100% not true. I brush it off b/c it's just a warning

2. Ally in a game refuses to concede to spite the rest of us, specifically states so in chat. I note the time, submit a report.

3. A week later I get a notice saying that the report was rejected for lack of information, and lose my 25 silver. Whatever.

4. Over the next 3 weeks, I submit about 3 reports for players who clearly griefed, all reports being specific with times noted.

5. All reports are sent back to me saying they didn't have time to review them, and I get my coins back.

6. Some players are trash talking before the match even starts, turns into arguments about my terrible KDR. I decide to show them how much I care about KDR and their arguments before the match starts, and feed 1/35 with Sandwraith (accidentally got that 1 kill, wasn't even a KS). I know well that I will receive a ban, and am happy about it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat because the tears of the trash talkers were absolutely delicious as I threw the game for them. HOWEVER, within 30 minutes (yes, 30 minutes) I get a notice that I have been banned for 3 days.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!? I could care less about the ban, I deserved it (not to mention the fact that I went out of the country the next day so the ban didn't even affect me :scou:). But the fact that it occurred within 30 minutes of the game after many of my reports have been discarded. And no, it was not a latent ban from a previous game that coincidentally occurred at the same time I had griefed.

7. In the time since I've submitted about 3 reports for players who clearly griefed, all reports being specific with times noted, and every one has been sent back to me saying they didn't have time to review them.

So what's happening here? Are mods simply expediting bans for their friends? How can one review occur within 30 minutes and 6 others not be reviewed at all?

TL;DR: OP should've gotten a longer ban

...and I still would have happily taken it. But that's not the point, the point is that the GM's are completely inconsistent, if not flat out corrupt in handling reports.

I don't know, I filed one report and got a response within a day that the other player was guilty and I got my coins back. That's the extent of my experience. I approve of your vigilante justice by the way.

ElGuapo,

Tickets are automatically assigned to each GM. GMs do not pick and choose which ticket to review. Many tickets submitted are resolved within an hour of being reported. Others take days or weeks. Others still are deemed low priority and may take a very long time to look at.

I assure you that GMs are not expediting tickets for friends. GMs that are caught doing this are immediately removed from the GM team.

The tickets get put into a qeue, and then a GM goes through their qeue and looks at each ticket(If I remember correctly from soneone else saying so). So one GM may be behind, and cause the tickets to take a bit longer, whereas another GM is currently logged on and caught up when the ticket on you comes through he see's it, and bam!

Dunno. Maybe im completely wrong. Either way, the ticket still gets looked at, even if its a week later for one.

And why, exactly, are you complaining? You said yourself that getting that ban didnt effect you, since you were leaving the country any way. Would you have preferred to have gotten the ban after you came back?

I just thought of a RAP Suggestion!

^ this is not how it works.

Tickets are assigned live and one at a time. There is no list for each GM that they go thru. If a ticket is slated to be the next one given out, it will go to whichever GM is first available. Therefore a particular GM going slowly will not affect the queue in any way.

The order in which tickets are assigned is not for public knowledge.

I LITERALLY explained that. I'm annoyed because I got a warning that was inaccurately assigned. I got sent back a report for being inaccurate when it was perfectly clear, and that somehow 6 more reports couldn't be read, but mine was read in 30 minutes.

Thanks for clearing that up Macro. Wasnt sure if I remembered correctly how it was explained. That's why I said "Dunno. Maybe im compeltely wrong."

The ticket still gets looked at eventually!

It does seem the system is a little bit on the lazy side. Not all the GM's do their job to the utmost of the ability everytime I'm sure. I'm sure they come home, tired from work, sit back, have a beer and just skim through their tickets.

There has to be some way to track which GM's actually do their job and which ones are just blowing it off because they love having the red letters in game. I would love to be a GM because things would be done right the first time and all justice would be served fair and unbiased. I should apply.

We do keep track... it's just that this information is kept private for obvious reasons. Underperforming GMs (too few tickets or high instance of overturns) and abusive GMs (doing friends tickets, threatening people in game) are promptly removed.

Can a mod who attended the alleged game review his own ticket?

Absolutely not. GMs cannot do tickets they are in any way associated with, meaning any tickets that involve games they were in, their friends were in etc.

Moral of story:
GMs are forbidden from handling their own tickets, tickets of friends, tickets against themselves, and tickets against their friends.
If they are caught doing this they are removed from the team.

Closing.
