Texture gloss when creating a new skin?

Hi there. When I did some simple recolors for Salforis and Gunblade, I noticed that each of them had more gloss or shine after the pack was installed, though it had my correct colors. This remained true whether or not the new skin was brighter or darker.

How can I tone down or remove this gloss? Thanks for any help.
