3t (no idea what that smiley is) = 30 exp (retard can't even write 3s in the right direction) [-(t/T)²] (was probably trying to do an overly sad emoticon T_T but just failed it)
Anyway that means the guy is sad T T because he only got 30 xp.

Also reported for saying homogenous electric fields, :elec: ain't no faggot
Apparently that makes you in an exited state OP, I'm not surprised. Go oscillate somewhere else with your girly smileys and learn to write 3 and 8 correctly

Dude, the textbook already gave you a hint, how come you still can't figure it out?

Thats not even a hint, I don't solve integrals I use tables, I need someone to set up this integral for me, but nice try

have at it again nerds

There is no conversation here, you're trying to get someone to do your homework for you, and being rude to boot. This is not a topic for GD. Find an engineering forum or something.

You should post the integral given in (2.48) as the textbook told you. Nobody here has any idea what integral the textbook is referring to because it is not provided to us.

Just integrate the damn thing and get -(h^2 / t^2) |^h_0

h = tau. CBF using alt codes

That's my good deed of the day, time to ride off into the sun set.

I bet I know what it is.

In either case, I don't really see any reason to do your homework for you, but if you honestly would like some help I can give you some pointers.

Firstly, it's a harmonic oscillator, which we know can be represented as F=-kx, and secondly we know that since the particle is charged, it will experience a force dictated by the electric field. This coupled with integral 2.48 should pretty much get you to the answer.

Haha, I guess I was using the hyperbole too much :P. What I meant was that it's best to provide more details than less if you expect help from others. (By "you" I meant the OP)
