My suggestion is that there is a betting system with the shop owner "Merrick" in which you can bet goblin coins on the likelyhood of winning your next matchmaking game.
Unfortunately Merrick is a smart Goblin and bets can only be made once in the picking phase of the game, this way, the rating / win rate / KDR etc of both teams can be taken into account whilst determining the amount won / lost.
Players may only bet on winning the game and it must be TMM only. This may result in more players playing to win and less people "throwing" which causes anger in the HoN community. In the case of players playing purely for fun and not rating, there will be an option to turn off betting while queing. (There-fore you won't end up with one person in the game playing purely to win while the rest of the team just want to try out new strategies).
An additional win reward such as coins gained from betting may encourage more 5man / clan TMM, which may be healty for HoNs' competitive scene.
In my opinion silver coins should only be used while betting so no "real" money is at stake. This could be a fun addition to the game.
